For a nearly 40 yro Rioja so fresh & vibrant. High pitch notes of mixed red fruit and vanilla on palate. Still snap of acidity to close out finish. Holy cow! I’m revisiting a few leftover ounces left in bottles from last night. This 1981 Cabernet has been open for nearly 36 hours sitting at room temp but there is not a hint of oxidation. And check out the color! This is still so fresh and vibrant that I would guess it to be more than 20 years younger than it is. @Shawn R what an amazing bottle! Thanks for bringing it. — 7 years ago
