Blend of 83% Tempranillo, 9% Graciano, 6% Mazuelo (Cariñena) and 2% Garnacha, grapes and various plots fermented separately, aged for 20 months in American oak, then blended. Deep Ruby color with aromas of ripe black fruits and floral spice notes. On the palate flavors of cherry, blackberry and plum with notes of leather, vanilla and oaky notes. Fine tannins, long finish, lively acidity ending with fruit, sweet oak and spice. Nice! — a month ago
Bought at Waitrose (I think). Punches well above its weight. Smooth, notes of black current and tobacco but not overpowering. Very easy drinking but complex — a month ago
18-. Very sophisticated wine. Smooth, deep, long. The epitome of serious Rioja. Not spectacular, but give me more. — a month ago
For those who love Riojas, this is excellent. Tobacco, vanilla, and cherry are my favorites. — 2 months ago

3.6 Wonderful, very tasty and smooth Rioja Reserve. This Muga is one of our favorites. On sale for $27.99. — 10 days ago
Just an amazing bottle. Of course you always have that Spanish iodine finish but full of purple fruit and depth. — 25 days ago
Presented to me double-blind at Tasting Group. The wine is a deep ruby color with a slightly purple hue; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. No signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of black and red fruit: Ranier cherries and blackberries along with some dried earth, soft wood notes, some faint baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins (that seem to build) and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and comes off a touch reserved in the end. Initial conclusions: this could be a Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Grenache-based blend or Bordeaux-blend from either Spain, Italy, France, the United States or Australia but the fruit doesn’t impress so I’m leaning away from the New World. I don’t get enough candied fruit to put me in the Southern Rhone and I think the oak treatment seems a bit liberal for that. And if this Sangiovese, I would be pissed. So I’m calling Tempranillo, from Spain, Rioja, Reserva, 2018. Daaaaang. I was close. Drink now with patience and enjoy through 2036.

Excellent.
— 10 days ago
Fragrance was really good and the initial taste was great. It gets sour over time but it goes with everything. Nice and mature wine. — 2 months ago

Un tempranillo mezcla de rioja. este es mi tercero tempranillo desde rioja. espero sentirme un caballero. first scent was coke (cola) on the cork. hue is extremely dark. No clarity much turbidity in broad daylight. slight note of sweet cherry. much barrel and deep tannic tones of turbulence i find terrific. sour cherry on the tongue. Really dazzling deep wine brings the whole picnic and woodsy fairytale all together #tempranilloblend — a month ago
