Neal’s recommendation....the switch is never off. — 6 years ago
Love love love. Tremendous value. I may switch to Italian reds! — 7 years ago
Luke made the switch to Merlot as the driver for the signature estate blend in ‘13. I was a little skeptical, but this really sang with power and a touch of youthful energy that VA Merlot is known for (me thinks). I will be sourcing another bottle to lay down :) — 7 years ago
Excellent junmai ginjo made with yeast derived from strawberry. Fruity and full, creamy, delicious. High quality- too bad about the importer's decision to switch to a huge distributor where it will be lost in the shuffle. Free advice: don't buy saké with no production date on it. — 8 years ago
This was a big ol' boy! After the 84 Chappellet, I had to switch gears a little bit! Second wine served blind to more or less the same crowd. Poured black and inky. Nose with a little bit of meat but this was mostly black dark roasted fruits. Entry was dark blackberry, sweet plums, figs, baking spice. Power. Lots of guesses for syrah and petite sirah and I don't think anyone really thought this one was 11 years old. Finished with a lot of roasted sweet and chewy tannin. I didn't think I was in the mood for this kind of wine until I realized that I was in the mood for this kind of wine! I think this one has another five to ten years easily. Wondering why this one seems to get lower scores on Delectable, but I have a feeling that most people don't give these the age they need. — 6 years ago
On the nose, ripe, lush, rich; blackberries, dark cherries, plum, blueberries, olallieberries, black raspberries & strawberries on the glass edges, mixed berry cola, black licorice, vanilla, mocha & dark chocolate, liqueur notes, slight alcohol burn, crush dry rocks, saddle-wood, dry brown top soil/clay, rich, moist, black soil and candied red florals with very fragrant violets.
The body is full, lush and ruby. Tannins are round, velvety and slightly dusty. The fruits are candied and super ripe (perhaps a touch overripe); blackberries, dark cherries, plum, blueberries, olallieberries, black raspberries & strawberries on the glass edges, mixed berry cola, black licorice, sweet tarry notes, vanilla, cinnamon, clove, mocha & dark chocolate, lots of caramel, liqueur notes, just a touch of alcohol burn (14.8%), dark spice with heat that lifts off the palate, crush dry rocks, saddle-wood, dry brown top soil/clay, rich, moist, black soil and candied red florals with very fragrant violets. The structure, length, tension and balance are harmonious...right at their peak. Acidity is perfect. The long, rich, ripe, ruby, lush, velvety, elegant finish is spectacular and lasts minutes.
There is still plenty of life ahead for their 02 Merlot. Another 5 years and perhaps a little more.

Time to switch it up after several new Cabernet’s, this is the perfect opposite, fantastic 100 💯 Syrah .
My first Reva, question is how close are other non 100 point vintages to this, is this worth double just because of the ratings? Someone please inform me so I know what other vintages I should buy that are almost as good but 50% less cost🤷🏼♂️ — 7 years ago
This is THE beverage that flipped the switch for me about beer 🍻. In my wine class at college, the professor taught ancient fermentation methods with this.. honey, lemon, and kiwi. Saffron? Maybe... — 8 years ago
There is just no holiday weekend or weekend that the Rosé Champagne is not coming out at the D&S lounge.
Really love the deeper, richer, riper fruits of the Ruinart & gentler chalkiness as a nice switch up from my addiction to Billecart-Salmon Rosé.
Happy Eve of the 4th of July. Cheers all!🥂 🇺🇸 💥 🎇 🧨 — 6 years ago
Bloody marvellous wine from Reinhard, 12 years old but still rocking. Before the style switch and this wine brings back some great memories visiting Reinhard in those days. Loving this wine with he hints of grapefruit and lime. Oiled style with silk in the mouth and ok it’s aged but tasted great!! — 6 years ago
The loudness switch is on. The bass and treble are accentuated. Classic bouquet with a massive horn section of berries and encore lasting finish. — 6 years ago
The day after Thanksgiving I have opened the 2016 Evolúció Furmint Tokaj, Hungary. Had the taste for a nice white wine after the reds I have had over the past few weeks. It is nice to switch things up and always good to try wines from different regions.
On the nose aromas of white flowers are prevalent with, white peach, lemon, grapefruit, orange peel and herbs.
The palate reveals notes of lemon, orange, lemon, lime, green apple and a bit of herbal back note.
This wine is smooth medium bodied with fresh medium + bracing acidity that leads to a clean medium to long finish. A very nice wine that would go well with fish or fowl. Continued peace during your holiday weekend and please stay safe. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂 — 6 years ago
With the cheese a switch to something heartier is in order. A lovely Bordeaux — 7 years ago
