Cedar, fruit in the background, coconut?. Mature and delicious — 9 months ago
Cherry. Spice, like anise and thyme. Chalky soil. Medium tannins. Medium plus finish. Medium plus perfume. Love Sangiovese but a little tight despite decanting — 4 years ago
Jason brought for boys golf week. Spainish. 10 yr great. — 7 years ago
This is the best bottle of wine I’ve had from my cellar in years. Nearly perfect. Bought it in 2008 for $30 and one of my great finds. Good lord it was just divine. I’m sure there have been better vintages but I can’t imagine it. — 4 months ago
Delicious! — 5 months ago
Excellent with just a bit of breathing, a good deal at $24 which I do not expect to see any time again soon. A good dinner wine, drunk on January 19, 2026. — 7 months ago
Tasted at Total Wine & bought a bottle. A little fruity. Not too bold. Good with steak. — 9 months ago
Splash decanted directly before service; enjoyed over the course of a few hours out of red Solo cups. The 1981 Gran Reserva Blanco pours, a golden color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of Khalas dates, dried apricot, black lemon, almonds, toasted coconut and marshmallow. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and the texture is waxy. A cerebral wine and just lovely stuff. Well stored bottles have a long life yet left ahead. Drink now with patience and plenty of air and through 2051. — 10 months ago
Chianti Classico tasting 🇮🇹 @ Ai Fiori — 4 months ago
Had high hopes as this wine/vintage was an absolute stunner 7-8 years ago when I last had a bottle but this one was a bit shagged (as my newly minted MW friend likes to say). Hoping it’s just this bottle, but maybe it’s peak has long past. Slightly maderized and very little fruit left. Thin. — 4 months ago
An OK Chianti. Widely available. — 5 months ago
Yummy Amarone with colleagues in Singapore (Shangri La Italian restaurant). Yep, would quite happily have another bottle. 2020 — 7 months ago
Excellent wine — 8 months ago
Raisin and dried cherry aromas with vanilla, earth and baking spice accents. Same dried fruit flavors with hints of cloves, licorice and tobacco. Minerals and dried herbs on the long chewy finish. Lacking some boldness and a little tight, but still solid. — 6 years ago
Full body, rounded flavor full of heavy fruit — 8 years ago
