Big Table Farm

Pelos-Sandberg Vineyard Pinot Noir 2022

Ruby in color with light intensity and a wide reddish/ cloudy rim.

Light nose of strawberries, raspberries, sweet cherries, light oak and spices.

Medium in body and soft with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with bing cherries, raspberries, strawberries, light wood, herbs, light vegetables, spices and coffee.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and raspberries.

This young Pinot Noir from Oregon is starting to drink nicely, but needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly.

This Single Vineyard is easy drinking, nicely balanced and elegant.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime.

Not overly complex at this point, but would be nice to revisit it in 3 years and see how it evolves.

Good by itself or with food. I gave it a light chill and had it with hard cheeses.

A small production of only 269 cases. Unfined and unfiltered.

12.9% alcohol by volume.

89 points.

Liquid Farm

Four Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay 2017

“Four” is a single-vintage blend of the most exciting barrels of Chardonnay from Liquid Farm’s vineyards. Popped and poured; enjoyed with friends over the course of an hour or so. The 2017 pours a striking, intensely bright golden color. I’m not sure I have seen anything quite like it before. It’s nearly neon. On the nose, the wine is redolent ripe and tart tropical fruits: starfruit and pineapple along with lemons, green apple, butter, gentle baking spices (this does see extended time in a small percentage of new oak). On the palate, the wine is dry with what I perceive to be high acid. It’s awesome. Confirming the notes form the nose, the finish is long with good minerality. This is titillating wine that hooks you from sight to nose to palate and it’s the latter that drives it home with the remarkable acid to match the fruit. About as good as any New World Chardonnay I’ve ever had. Drink now through 2039. — 3 months ago

Ripe fruit, balanced richness and acidity. This should age wonderfully. — 20 days ago

Oak Farm Vineyards

Tievoli Red Blend 2020

Big, bold, very fruit forward. Has better structure and more interesting tannin than I expected, which helps make this wine more interesting than a jammy fruit bomb. Not a favorite approach of mine, but this one is interesting. — 2 months ago

La Clarine Farm

Home Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2010

28% Tannat, 24% Tempranillo, 24% Syrah, 22% Grenache, and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon (so beyond weird why Delectable calls this Cabernet Sauvignon??), this “Home Vineyard” was always the most highly-allocated and difficult to buy of Hank’s wines, but he was always kind enough to sell me 2-3 or more bottles, so huge kudos to @Hank Beckmeyer for that!!

Color is still quite purple/red, I’m getting aromatics that suggest Tannat/Tempranillo mostly, not Syrah/Grenache, shows a fair degree of ripeness (14.3% ABV, different from many of the post-2011 cuvées), tannins are smooth, long finish, I’ve always loved this particular LCF red wine!!

Sierra Foothills Petit Manseng 2013

This is seriously great, oily notes up front, maybe a little R.S. as well, but thick and still very youthful, great depth, long, lingering finish, super fine!! Kudos to Hank for this gem!! — 2 months ago
