Super dry, orchard and citrus, floral and mineral notes, lively. — 3 months ago
Surprised but very happy that this 2007 wine was drinking great with a lot of berries and a slight bit of tar. Nice long finish and an all around very enjoyable. — 4 months ago
Popped in poured; no formal notes. The 2020 Pithos Rosso is, to my palate, a lovely Sicilian alternative to Beaujolais. Delicious, refreshingly fruity and just a touch wild. Sufficient structure to provide enjoyment for the near term, but I would just as well drink now. I really enjoy these wines. — 5 months ago
Light ruby color with a noticeable brick rim. Aromas and flavors of dried cherries and strawberries, dried rose petals, asphalt, strong coffee, orange zest, vanilla and leather. Very spicy and earthy on the medium-plus finish. Tannins have mellowed to a velvety softness. Relatively light bodied. May have just passed its peak. Clearly shows how aging can affect a wine. — 7 months ago

Quite nice for the price - refreshing — 9 months ago
2020 vintage. Excellent concentration. Medium body with a lengthy, deliciously dry, finish. Looking to taste through the rest of this producer's offerings. This particular wine a little pricey and won't be able to move it but really enjoyed. 04.09.25. — 7 months ago

Medium ruby , slightly wider ruby, garnet rim . Slightly more closed and serious ,spiced cherries , menthol , liquorice and dried rosemary and thyme . On the palate this shows good red fruits , with raspberry , red cherry , spiced red plum , with dried herbs and a liquorice hint . Quite gritty tannins and fresh acidity , saline tinged finish of good length . This needs a little more time , better in 2-5 years and will show well a further 5 or so — 5 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of three hours. The 2012 Villero pours a pale, slightly hazy garnet with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing and initially a little grumpy with the fruit showing a touch stewed and everything a little muddled. However, with about 30min of air, it started to freshen up! This is a trait I find common with traditionally made Nebbiolo from Barolo and Barbaresco in solar years. Morello cherry, raspberry, bruised strawberry, dried roses, tar, dried green herbs, talcum powder, and gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and grippy. There is so much nuance and yet, the quality is undeniable. Hard to stay away from. Drink now with patience to let it freshen up in the glass after opening but this should drink well through 2037. — 6 months ago
