Bordeaux red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (56%) and Merlot (44%). Dark ruby color with purple highlights. Ripe red fruit aromas with distinct purple flower notes. The palate is more black fruit (blackberry and black currant) focused with hints of black tea, baking spices, wet stones and dried mint. Touch of saline on the finish. Medium bodied and crisp acidity. Well balanced and harmonious. Thanks for opening this one, Keith S! — 8 months ago
Slightly medicinal notes. Dark fruit, leather, cedar, plum and bitter cherry. Soft and long. — 3 days ago
Wow. A relic from my trip to Waiheke in ‘08, it’s holding up remarkably well. Spot on Bordeaux-like character with hints of bell pepper and graphite to go along with seamless tannin and racy acidity. The fruit character is still bright and sings with cranberry, cherry and red cassis in perfect harmony with the structure of the wine. Glad I waited and glad I have another bottle! — 3 months ago
Left Bank Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) and Merlot (40%). Dark ruby color. Aromas of black fruits, forest floor and menthol. Flavors of black berry/currants with hints of dark chocolate and roasted nuts. Long and smooth finish. Intense but well balanced tannins and acidity. Medium-plus body and nice freshness. Thanks for the bottle, Kase. — 7 months ago
2020 vintage. Only 1 hectare, owned by the Estager family ( also La Cabanne in Pomerol among others). 66% Merlot and 34% Cabernet Franc. Round and ripe, very good value. Even better the next day. — a month ago
Blend of 84% Cabernet, 12% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, deep Ruby with rich fruit aromas, aged for 14 months in 15% new French oak. On the palate flavors of blackberry and currants, with notes of licorice, tobacco, some floral and cedar spice. Fine tannins, long finish, ending with fruit, vanilla, oak and spice. Nice but needs more bottle age, should last another 10 years. Nice! — 3 months ago
2015 vintage on Nov 9, 2024 still bold tannins present but not much fruit — 6 months ago

Since I'm in Bordeaux, my #FridayCabernetfix needs to be from here.
Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Beautiful nose of blueberries, black plums, currants, cedar, chocolates, earth, vegetables, spices, tobacco leaf, dark coffee, dark chocolates, herbs, black tea and black pepper.
Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, spices, cedar, licorice, chocolates, dark coffee, pencil lead, earth and light vegetables.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious 13 year old Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Saint Julien. Rich and fruit forward. Elegant and nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel.
This Second Growth Bordeaux is starting to show age on the nose, but the palate is still fresh tasting. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.
Shows good structure with nice tannins. Expressive, and good by itself or with food.
A blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot. Aged in (80% new) French Oak barrels for 18 months.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
