Dark rubi robe, nose of dark cherries, cocoa, blackcurrant, cedar, asian spices and wood spice. Very elegant and same time bold in the mouth, complex, good length. This is classical claret at its best. Was decanted 45 minutes before our fois gras and Simmental steak was served. Great stuff. Was our Mother’s day meal. — 15 days ago
What an incredible nose. Lifted limestone and lime with pear and a salinity. The slightly oily texture of CC but sophisticated and powerful and lifted. Still a baby but really delicious now. A monster, but a beautiful silky monster. Wow — 18 days ago
The 2014 Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru, made by Thierry Brouin, has a typically leafy bouquet. There is something autumnal about the aromatics, and some red fruits are extant but certainly moving into their secondary phase. The palate is medium-bodied with an austere, slightly meaty opening. This is not a concentrated Lambrays by any means. It's a little dry and mealy in the mouth, though it has charm. (Neal Martin, Vinous, June 2024)

Gorgeous nose of sweet wood, bittersweet cocoa, tobacco, spices and striking loamy minerality. This wine goes to 11 on the nose with air but compared to the 16 it is more aromatically exciting on the pop and pour. Palate is rich and ripe with deep cassis and berry fruit but also terrific energy and minerality. A gorgeous mid palate plumpness as well. Really nice and long finish. Such amazing energy and with the requisite ripeness of 18 it still has stunning freshness and energy. Now after some coaxing the air has really opened tbis nose with glorious ethereal spices and sweet tobacco. — 15 days ago

1995 vintage. Good fill. Excellent cork with minimal saturation. Decanted and throwing a tad extra sediment…a nice mix of chunky and powdery sed. Tasted after 30 minutes and 2 hours open and decanted. Light-medium body. Dark cherry and earth in the nose. These transferred over and slapped on a fudge chocolate note on the finish. In a good place now and not improving. Would seem to hold steady in this standing for another 3-4 years. 6.6.24. — 3 days ago
