Easy to drink $10 JUNGLE JIM buy again — 3 years ago
A pretty color of ruby with a wide red rim.
On the nose cherries, blueberries, violets, spices, river rocks, earth, concrete, light vegetables and black pepper.
Medium bodied and airy, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with cherries, sweet raspberries, tobacco, spices, coffee, earth, vegetables, light alcohol and peppercorn.
Medium finish with fine grained tannins and red chili powder.
This is a young red blend from Southern Rhone. Showing fresh fruits with earth notes. Nice and interesting.
Needs an hour to open up and remove some of the acidity. Tannins show up after 60 minutes.
Already drinking nicely, but needs a few years to calm down. Would be nice to revisit it in 3 years.
Showing mild complexity, and a little hot at the back of the throat right now. Gentle and elegant. Spicy and tangy.
Good by itself and better with food. Paired nicely with Camembert and crackers.
A blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah. Unfiltered and fined.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
89 points.

Beautiful wine, decant before hand for the best nose. — 6 months ago
A gift from our friend Steve L. a few years ago, which we drank on the occasion of our 19th anniversary. Nice “jammy” blackberry fruit flavor; dry and medium to full bodied. A 2018 vintage that we enjoyed during 2025. I would expect the wine is one that ages well. — 9 months ago

I really enjoyed this blend. — 2 months ago
It’s been a couple years since I last enjoyed the 1996 and based off this experience, it’s continuing to age gracefully.
Double decanted the night before. The wine pours a garnet color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of cassis, kirsch, purple flowers, tobacco, dried herbs, green pepper, old wood and gravelly earthy. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is long and sanguine. So much soul, it could make Marvin Gaye blush. Drink now with patience (and a long decant) through 2041. Thanks for the assist @Lyle Fass — 5 months ago
At Pressoir NYC burgh tasting - this 2009 from the magnum was best of the Volnays and best of the tasting overall - deep brooding structured fruit, stellar - and notably better than the 2008 — 8 months ago

2020 vintage. From dedicated parcels, Marquis de Calon Ségur is very different from the grand vin, with Merlot dominating the blend. Immediately expressive, with abundant red fruit and flowers. Impeccable purity of fruit and a silky mouthfeel. Good value at one third of the price of the grand vin. Abv. 14,5%. — 3 days ago
