Posed and delicious. A hint of honey, some rock pool, pear and ripe apple. Stone and great texture. Long but a little less lucid than the mag of Monte alongside. Excellent — a month ago

Crisp, citrusy and with great acidity and freshness. This is one of the best and finest blanc de blancs from an independent grower we know: Rodolphe Peters does truly great champagne. — 2 months ago

Les Clos Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2010

Super clean and light with steeliness and light lime color. Much fresher than the 09. Zippy with rock pools, green apple. Almost Riesling like in its precision. Light on its feet despite its depth. — a month ago

Château Malartic-Lagravière

Grand Cru Classe de Graves Pessac Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

2016 vintage. Decanted (with little sed) and tasted after 1.5 hours and 3 hours. Medium body. In a state of transition currently. Holding back a bit and has lost that tail-wagging exuberance along with some of the supple qualities of youth. Feel like this wine is on a side quest and will return to the fold in the next 3-5 years. 10.11.25. — a month ago

Good info. I have a bottle or two of this in the cellar as was wondering when to pull.

Château Brane-Cantenac

Grand Cru Classé en 1855 Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 1959

Impressively knit and proudly firm. A rare treat that is magically sound and correct. An ambivalence insists it has some years left. Scary. — a month ago

Excellent vintage. The ‘59 BDX are holding on surprisingly well. Frankenweins.

Château Fleur Cardinale

Grand Cru Classé Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

First bottle corked. Luckily able to pull another from the cellar to compare. What a difference! Great learning when you can compare. Black cherry, smooth, decent acidity, very soft tannins. First bottle was wet cardboard. — 17 days ago

Domaine Leflaive

Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru Chardonnay 2012

Medium light lemon yellow colour . This is quite reserved and closed , quite a difference from the incorrect Pucelles . Quite mineral , chalky and stony , touch of struck match , white flowers , some lemon pith , focused and detailed , with the freshness the Pucelles lacked. On the palate this is denser and richer than the nose suggests with lemon peel , touch of white peach , chalky and mineral , excellent extract and good freshness . Quite long rich and intense but still really well balanced finish . This needs more time , I would leave this another 3-5 years and will last well a further 10 years . — a month ago

Birth year tastings, evening 4.
Polished leather, nuts, ecoline, grilled red pepper, tomato leaf, gingerbread, pepper, salty savoriness, tannins still present, still youthful, lots of future. Muscular! Beautiful.
