On a really hot day, full of Canadian smoke( Export A’s, anyone), thunderstorms and possible tornadoes, this vino zaps you into focus. Strawberries and vaguely Italian like Cherries on the nose mingled with earth, feet, and some umami on the palate. At first, the acidity is bracing. But with food a unified whole emerges.Perfect with Bacon & Lemon roasted Trout.Cuts right through the fats without overpowering your buds. Very glou glou at 11.5°.Raise a glass to Portugal!

1977 vintage. Last tasted 12.23.23 (9.6). Opened and filtered into a decanter. Tons of chunky sed trapped in the bowels of the bottle thank goodness. Tasted after 1 hour. Still top-notch and still going to outlive your born/unborn children. Strong red fruit in the nose with a touch of smokey oak. Raspberry and red cherry with a touch of leather and violet opens into round tannins with a dry medium mouth feel. The finish is long with good tannins settling into a touch of maduro style cigar and fennel seed. Very enjoyable and I recommend decanting this bottle. — 4 months ago

The whole crushed violets and plummy thang definitely there alongside hints of sweet tobacco in her breath. With apologies, just another number in your little black book.
