So,so bright, concentrated & clear. Fennel, endive, & rum soaked apples on nose ( tasted blind a friend thought Jura ); on palate more of those freshly cut vegetables with more apple and underripe pear notes. Intense. And so young. So many miles to go. I always never buy enough of Chidaine, to my regret. But drinking at any stage is so mesmerizing. Like a shooting star. — 16 days ago

Broke out one of my cellared Raffaults for my homeboy who graced me with a home cooked Tuscan styled flank steak w rosemary & arugula, as well as Israeli cous cous w chickpeas, charred tomatoes, feta, & herbs. Light Cadmium red hued & strong color though ( good cork- not a guarantee w Raffault!); dense Hibiscus, fresh raspberry & some bramble on nose; on palate very clean & smooth mouthfeel, with the initial flavors repeated but a deeper blend of red fruits & a stronger presence of under brush. Super fresh & integrated. Elegant, & the Burgundy echo was hard to ignore. Not Uber complex but not monolithic either, which this line of Raffault can be in its youth ( or as it ages). Very impressive, & accessible now. Curious how my ‘02 & 07s will fare… — 3 days ago

Deep garnet color with a hint of brick. Leather and black cherry on the nose very subdued alcohol. Earthy notes at first then dried orange peel dried montmorancy cherry leather and a bit of smoke. Have one more in the cellar which I will wait 2-5years to open. Thanks to Eric Brown for recommending this lovely cab franc — 14 hours ago

Beautiful grassy nose, with hints of pineapple, lemon pledge, and crushed limestone. Beautiful hay color, slightly oily, mouth coating texture on a medium body. Palate is silky, with notes of lemon, bright pineapple, and creamy citrus, with notes of vanilla and slight fresh cut hay on the finish. — 8 hours ago
