Celebrating 20K on Instagram with this beautiful wine!
Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim. Doesn't show age at all.
Fruity nose of blackberries, sweet cherries, black currants, figs, raisins, vanilla, cedar, licorice, cloves, cola, chocolates, mocha, caramel and black pepper.
Full bodied, smooth and bold, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with blackberries, black plums, cooked cherries, cedar, leather, earth, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, mocha, coke, light earth, peppercorn, leather and tobacco.
Long finish with firm tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a great Napa Bordeaux blend. Showing great complexity and mouthfeel. Nicely balanced and fruit forward.
A fantastic wine from a great vintage. I've had a few different vintages of this, from older to younger, and this 2012 vintage is so nice right now. Will be even better in the next 10 to 15 years.
Thank you John for sharing this with me.
Rich yet elegant. Opulent and luxurious. Delectable and delicious.

Good right out of the bottle and much better after 3 hours of airtime. Fun wine for parties if it's in the budget. 😉

Dark black fruit, with cedar notes and hint of vanilla on the finish. — 7 years ago

I’ve got to be honest...I don’t think I’ve ever had a BV wine before. Being that their history in Napa runs quite deep, I figured it was time to try a bottle, and this was reasonably priced at the restaurant.
Extremely dark in the glass. Nose was spice, dark chocolate shavings and cassis dominant. Quite smooth (which I find with most ‘14s) from the front palate all the way through the finish...blackberries, black cherry, just a touch of blueberries in the mid-palate that accentuates the oak. Finish has a nutmeg and bay leaf type note. Fairly rich style cab-blend that went well with my hangar steak. — 8 years ago

This is a big Rioja. American oak notes and light vanilla. Dark red fruits. Black cherry and ripe raspberry. Good finish. — 10 years ago
Il Bruciato means "the burnt one" in English, and she shows black cherry cola, charcoal, and chalk out of the bottle with an assertive attack and med/med+ body; after 30 minutes, she settles down a bit, gets smoother, showing off a rounder red fruit profile along with the black. Despite the toasted oak on the nose, the roasted flavor never integrated into the palate, so the wine never really crosses into complex territory, but has lovely balance. Paired exceptionally well with penne bolognese. — 11 years ago
This is astonishing. Beautiful and powerful with a smoky, oaky, black-fruity, spicy nose that won't quit. Palate is rich with loads of fruit, sweet vanilla oak, and a port-like quality. This wine has monastrell's blueberry, black fruit, iron tincture, and beef blood signature. Skip the steak and pair this with savory for foods for a fantastic contrast. Finish is long and playfully tasty. — 12 years ago
Black cherry, vanilla, raspberry preserves, plum, currant and oak. Full-bodied and moderate tannins. — 5 years ago

A beautiful color of ruby with a wide brick rim.
Light and gentle nose of blueberries, black cherries, black currants, light oak, Indian spices, cinnamon, light licorice, coffee, light vinaigrette, curry and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with cherries, strawberries, red currants, light cedar, vegetables, coffee, tobacco leaf, herbs, black tea, peppercorn, vinaigrette and earth.
Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 14 year old is drinking very nicely now, although not from the best vintage.
Needs 2 hours to open up properly and show the beautiful nose, but pretty good right out of the bottle too.
This Gran Reserva is always enjoyable. A nice wine to have by itself or with food, and especially great with fatty cheeses.

Owes name to man of the cloth born in 1264, Bertrand de Goth, Bishop of Comminges, in the Pyrenees, later became Archbishop of Bordeaux in 1299. Blend, 57% Merlot, 38% Cab Sauv & 5% Petit Verdot & Cab Franc, aged in new French oak for 18 months. Pronounced youthful black fruit aromas with earthy baking spices. Blackberry & plum palate flavors with cedar & spice integrated with firm tannins, long ending, earthy oak with a mineral tang. Needs more bottle age! Tasting Sample! — 7 years ago

A beautiful left bank Bordeaux. Quite classic on the palate. Dry with subtle oak note, cinnamon, clove, slightly earthy, mostly with blackberry, black cherry, black currant, pencil shave. Not too many herbal notes on the nose. Med to med plus acidity and med plus tannin. Quite smooth. — 9 years ago
Great Paso Robles blend. Great nose showing currants, cigar box, star anise and oak. Wonderful fruit forward flavors of dark cherry, black currant, licorice and a very subtle hint of earthiness. The tannins are extremely well integrated and lush. This is a very nicely integrated wine with lots of aging potential. This is the iconic PR wine and does not disappoint. Cheers! — 10 years ago
Deep ruby color. Medium + aromas of dark cherries, vanilla, mint, sage, leather, and eucalyptus. Medium acidity, medium + tannins. Complex flavors of toasted oak, vanilla, cassis, and ripe black cherries. Young tannins, but nicely balanced with potential to age gracefully. A long finish. — 13 years ago
Mid 20th century fashionable country resort, popular with Hollywood due to 1892 stone Manor House & historic gardens. Blend of 81% Cab Sauv, 11% Merlot, 4% Malbec, rest other Rhone varieties, aged 20 months in 37% new French oak. Dark Ruby, aromas of ripe berry fruits, herbs & spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry & black currant with vanilla oak and earthy notes. Well balanced, fine tannins long finish ending with fruit, espresso notes and sweet spice! Nice now and will drink well over next decade. — 4 years ago
Muted nose of twig and tight cherry, cranberry and allspice. Dense black, ripe and dried cherry with leather cedar and clove, a dried blackberry component, very clean tobacco note, rosemary, and thyme. Cascading layers of coffee, oak, raspberry.

Wow, a Fav! Had another bottle about 7 mos ago. Blend of Petite Sirah, Syrah & Grenache and aged for 10 months on French oak (40% new). A deep red color with aromas of black fruits and sweet spice. On the palate, ripe plums, jammy blueberries and sweet cherry with slight oak and vanilla spice, pours like syrup. Lingering finish, good length allowing the soft tannins to open in your mouth. Good structure, ending with pure fruit and dash of minerality, drinks well now. Produced with 12 different labels. Wow! — 8 years ago
Negroamaro grape. Southern Italy. Great value. Loving the black cherry and plum. With pizza, pulled pork. — 8 years ago
Subtle but luscious black fruit and slight oak and earthy notes on the nose. Well balanced but I found it did need to breathe a bit for me to best enjoy. Had a lovely wine and cheese platter for afternoon snack on Christmas Day. Was fun to enjoy these flavors and how they played with various cheeses and antipasto. — 9 years ago
2003, subdued red fruits, smoke, crushed black berry and violets, nutmeg and anise. Amazing single vintage — 9 years ago
It's time for my Friday's Cabernet fix. This time, a wonderful Chilean Cabernet.
Deep purple in color with a purplish rim.
Beautiful nose of blueberries, blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, earth, spices, peppercorn, leather, bell pepper, sage, peppermint, eucalyptus and smoke.
Full bodied with medium acidity and beautiful long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cherries, figs, cloves, herbs, earth, cola, vanilla, oak, spices, light vegetables, coffee, chocolates, bell pepper, tobacco, beef jerky and peppercorn.
Long finish with firm tannins and black pepper.
An elegant, Single Vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile, with lots of complexity and fitness, but not fully balanced yet.
Still young now, but very enjoyable by itself, and better with BBQ Meats. I paired it with a cheese platter, crackers and nice company.
Grapes are grown at the foot hills of the Andes Mountains, on stony soils. 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc.

Likely the best Artemis Stag's Leap has ever made. Ripe blackberries, boysenberries, black plum, cinnamon, dark chocolate, vanilla toasted oak and caramel finish. It's not as fresh as we've had at the winery. Starting to close down in the bottle. This entry level Stag's Leap is better at this young stage than most of their 2011's. At $40, an extreme value. Can't wait to try it again in 8-10 years! — 11 years ago
Superbly blended. Deep, mellow with a hint of oak. The flavor profile from the grapes are well balanced so that all the flavors compliment each other equally. Most important for me.....the tannins are not overpowering. My favorite cab so far. — 14 years ago

Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.
Showing black fruits with earth, vanilla, cedar, leather, licorice, tobacco leaf, peppercorn, pencil lead, dark coffee, spices and dark chocolates.
Nice length on the finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
What a great Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Saint Julien.
This gorgeous wine feels much younger than it is right now. Complex and tasty.
This 18 year old will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 4 hours in the decanter.

The 2005 vintage was outstanding, and it's really shining through right here.
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses. Will pair nicely with a nice piece of steak.
