2013 vintage. Light ruby rim with a deep dark core. The nose is jammy like zinfandel wishes it could be, with savory herb and prosciutto notes backing it up. It's actually a rather delicate nose that belies the tannins you get on the palate. Black fruits for sure, those savory meats shine as well and finish with quite a bit of black pepper. Just a wonderful, wonderful Super Tuscan you can find at shops for under $30. Well f'n done.

Il Bruciato means "the burnt one" in English, and she shows black cherry cola, charcoal, and chalk out of the bottle with an assertive attack and med/med+ body; after 30 minutes, she settles down a bit, gets smoother, showing off a rounder red fruit profile along with the black. Despite the toasted oak on the nose, the roasted flavor never integrated into the palate, so the wine never really crosses into complex territory, but has lovely balance. Paired exceptionally well with penne bolognese.

Powerful nose, oak and tobacco, some sour cherry, great body, impressive legs--took a full minute to start dripping. Love it.

Super Tuscan with Cabernet, Merlot, and Syrah, is perfectly blended to offer a deep , highly fragrant wine that went well with Veal Marsala, and tomato sauces dishes. Long on the finish and drinks way above it's price---even in this restaurant!

Judy Tenuta would have been looking for something higher up on the food chain. This bottle died before the cork was extracted. A really good version of this wine can obviously be found. I'll try it another day, though I wish that Delectable had a better way to code those examples of wine which were spoiled.

Fruit driven tuscan. Ripe, juicy berries and dark stone fruits. Touch of savory herb and spice to remind you of its heritage. But overall modern, accessible, and enjoyable.

The Syrah really comes out at the forefront though there's only 15%.
