2014. Light petrol/rubber interplay, with black lime, lime pith and smoky cherrywood, graphite, underripe pineapple, igneous rock dripping with lemon. Sweet pineapple, lemon essence infused into lemon marmalade and emerging profoundly drier. Lime reduction, candied kalamansa with an ethereal distillation of floral and mystery citrus admixture.

Another unusual varietal from #chateaumontelena - Kaffir lime, green apple nose. Orchard fruit, pear on palate, lovely luscious mouthfeel, medium plus acidity, slightly sweet finish. Excellent #pottervalley #riesling to pair with Sichuan chicken on a hot Texas summer evening. — 4 months ago
2006. Rich, filtered apple gold. Nose of Bosc pear, baked lemon, warm yellow apple, lemon tart, coconut husk, dry sage, roasted almond, and honey crystal. Palate shows honey flash before flood of lemon juices, lime juice and pith, sweet grapefruit and lemongrass. Sweet at 16, balanced and finishing dry and refreshing!

Chalky lemon and lime mineral nose, candied grapefruit rind, crystalline green apple, Bosc pear. Perfect balance in an adroit turn from tart citrus to tangy apple. Every facet shining. Lemon persists with a salinity that keeps giving. Sublime.

This is your #riesling if you’re not a fan of the petrol / diesel notes, once this has had a chance to breathe a bit. While I don’t mind those, this is a nice alternative terroir expression - subtle floral and peach notes on nose. @Kurt Schuster is spot on with the crystalline descriptor. The palate is more about the luscious fruit texture backed by sturdy acidity and a touch of RS rather than a lot of complexity. Where else can you get #grandcru #alsaceriesling other than #costco for ~$18? — 3 months ago
