Have not had in 3.5 years and wow this is drinking so well. A superstar. Nose is all wet earth, decay, sweet spices and macerated cherries. Palate is a wonder of juicy cherry fruit, freshness and layered complexity. Dead leaves, buoyant acidity and a long, lingering finish. Needs some time to open but man is this great out of the bottle. As this airs the palate complexity is so compelling. The tannins are so oh so fine. This after many hours was so elegant and fine. Meaty and pure. This is drinking perfectly now after an hour open. — 6 months ago

2018 might be even better than the ‘17. Lemon curd, light tropical notes, but steely Chablis-like acidity makes it all work. Another lovely WScott Chard, esp. for those that are not as fond of the warmer siblings father south. — 6 years ago

Have not had in 4.5 years Stunning nose of mid season cherry, sour cherry, some dead leaves, tree bark, old wooden barrel and wild mint. A nose one can sink your teeth into. Palate has awesome freshness and acidity. So clean and pure. Nimble and wispy. So much energy and very velvety tannins. Needs to open up but great stuff. As it opens it gets so much sweeter and is so elegant. 9.3 to 9.4. Oh wow did this get good. Silky and sweet. Deeper. Lusher. Juicier. — 6 months ago

Very exiting nose. Confectionery sugars, greens that are sweet, fiddlehead ferns, sugar snap peas, mineral and airy. Even a hint of saline. Palate is elegant, linear and focused. Juicy and clean. If I was tasting blind, I would’ve said RRV Pinot. Aromas of cola,red fruit and cloves. Those aromas transferred to my palate where they were met by a healthy dose of acid. An extended finish. Despite a reasonable 13.5% alcohol, at about 3 hours it stared to make its presence known. — 9 months ago

What a nose. Huge minerals, herbs, vanilla extract, flowers. Really herbal and perfumed. Also some sort of tree bark and tonic aromas. Huge intense palate with that 21 edge. Salty, crunchy and intense. Long and pure. Terrific inner mouth aromas. Concentration. So juicy and long. Elegant. So pure. Refreshing. Salty. So so long. The finish is so good. — 3 years ago

Almost 2 years since I’ve had this. What a wine. Gorgeous nose of herbal vegetables that are so so fresh. Dynamic mineralIty on the nose with also a hint of fat. Palate is elegant and mineral with wonderful juiciness and a haunting opulent yet undeniably fresh texture. Age has really helped this be fully expressive. Great balance and purity. — 6 years ago
