Have we no wine? WSET 3 with Merit
Fantastic effort from a somewhat difficult vintage… bridges the style gap for most in our tasting crew (modern vs traditional). Needs 2+ hours of air or 4+ years in bottle, but everyone loved this one. 2nd bottle tasted from this vintage, both terrific. — 7 months ago
Terrific old-vine Etna minerality, green pear and lees-induced brioche funkiness that quickly blows off. Fantastic producer, cannot wait to visit! Better than some white burgundy at a third the price. — a year ago
One of the finest white wines I’ve had the pleasure of tasting. I’ve been a long-time Cantina Terlan fan, and have always had a soft spot for their $20 Pinot Bianco… but this takes things to another level. Polished, slightly saline-citrusy acidity, with muted limestone, and focused white peach and lime. It’s hard to condense this into a few descriptors. If you’re a Batard-Montrachet or Corton-Charlemagne fan, but can do with a little less French oak influence, and a little Muscadet Sevre et Maine, then this could be your jam. Looking forward to my next Alto Adige visit. Eataly Dallas (thanks to Derrek). — a year ago
Brings back memories of San Sebastián, even though most of the pintxo bars never pour rosé txakoli. 11.5%… higher ABV than most pours. This 2022 has a positively stronger herbaceous note than what I remember from previous vintages. But, previous wines were always with food, so drinking this solo could make all the difference. Lightly effervescent, mineral driven, tomato leaf notes with wild early-pick berries. Perfect summer cheese tray wine. — 6 months ago
Everything you wished for in a great 2016 Barbaresco. Anise seed, dark cherry, and perhaps surprisingly, a smidge of savory hay. Overall, at 3.5 hours, this 2016 is finally opening up. Tasted 2016 Montefico in Dec-2022. — a year ago
Typical Tavel color, softer muted strawberry nose. Palate had some familiar watermelon and rose hip notes, but overall lackluster flavor, and missing crucial acidity. Perhaps the ‘21 was past its prime, but I’ve had Tavel rosés handle 2 years from other producers. SPEC’s Dallas — 6 months ago
Always lovely and light, with just a hint of volcano. — 9 months ago
Perhaps the softest Barbaresco I’ve had in years. Slight heat damage perhaps (based on the cork), but the expected Nebbiolo flavors all intact, minus a little acidity and tannins. Could’ve sworn we were drinking a 2010 or 2013. — a year ago

Ripe yellow peach and apple notes, backed with mineral and herbal notes. Flawless production... if you don't like this producer's Vernaccia, you can probably pass on many Tuscan whites. — 4 months ago
