I’m a fan of most C-M reds. They rarely disappoint, the price point is usually acceptable, and they consistently produce elegant wines. This had all that in addition to dark red fruit and a surprising level of concentration. Plenty to enjoy now, but this bottle has legs…the good kind. — 3 days ago
Beautiful Beaujolais cru with Burgundian style. Bright macerated notes of cherry, raspberry. Infused caractere with nuances of liquorice, dried flowers and spices. Light on the attack, the final would tend towards the mid-bodied, with a nice concentration and complexity on a final with finely persistent mineral and tannins shades supported by partial oak aging that brings a lot of class.
— 8 days ago
Apologies to dear, dear wine mentor Grahm, this is a superb IMproper Claret from Pinot Gris, yet! Red currant? Guava depth soundings, tamed acerola lift... I am a most fond old man... — 20 hours ago
I can say for Raveneau I prefer ‘08 over ‘07 but for Dauvissat it’s a much closer race, and this electric ‘07 supports that notion. Intense and ultra complex nose upon the first pour from the decanter. Really raring to go.
It’s a classic vintage for Dauvissat with its oyster shell minerality, sea spray salinity and an attractive algae like savoriness, all backed by a bright lemony acid spine. It has all the elements you’d hope for in this Grand Cru. An incredible combination of power and elegance, elite midpalate depth and a finish that goes on and on. Proving again to be true, I continue to prefer Preuses over Clos in most vintages. — 4 days ago
