Bodega DiamAndes

Clos de los Siete Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2017

Argentinian Blend of Malbec (52%), Merlot (21%), Syrah (15%), Cabernet Sauvignon (7%), Petite Verdot (3%) and Cabernet Franc (2%). Dark ruby/purple color. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, blueberry, dark chocolate, wet soil and roasted nuts. Medium-plus body and very long finish. Creamy texture and fine tannins. Just a bit touch of sharpness. Laborde Double Select Uco Valley Syrah 2020

A nice Syrah for under $30. Not an extraordinary Syrah, but it tastes like Syrah and is a good value at its price point. — a month ago

Clos de los Siete Valle de Uco Malbec Blend 2020

NOSE: plum, tobacco, black cherry, earth…a little paint thinner.

TASTE: plum/cherry … not much different than the nose. Seems well made, but unimpressive for the price and reputation of the winemaker. 89.

Bodega Colomé

Estate High Elevation Vineyards Valle Calchaquies Malbec 2019

Strikingly unique #malbec. Earthy dried plum, cured meat, tar, dried herbs on the nose. Lively acidity up front on tongue, stewed plum, raisin, velvety tannins on the finish. — 14 days ago

Abbazia di Novacella (Stiftskellerei Neustift)

Alto Adige - Valle Isarco Kerner 2020

Started out fruit forward, plums, blackberries. After a little more air, it mellowed, and the rich tannins and earthiness shown thru. An hour plus in a decanter is needed. Then it is more of an old world Bordeaux. Stews, lamb, short ribs. — a month ago

Crianza Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2019

9.0

Light rioja. But I honestly don’t know much about the wines. Going to Spain next week should be better to describe next time. Not very tannins. Not very dry. Medium oak. Like it especially on a beautiful night after playing soccer with my kid. 17$. Totally worth it. Would recommend. — 2 days ago

Bodegas Riojanas

Monte Real Gran Reserva Rioja Tempranillo 2009

Crazy to say but…too young! Balanced and dark but has yet to develop the spice rack subtleness and tannins can still evolve further — a month ago

Maya 2012

Delectable Wine
9.7

The 2012 Maya is fabulous. Deep and explosive, the 2012 remains quite young. Black cherry, chocolate, espresso, licorice and gravel, along with the wine's natural concentration, convey and impression of virile intensity. As good as the 2012 is today, another few years in bottle certainly will not hurt. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2024)
