Nice, but a little less dry, peppery than we prefer — 5 years ago
Wonderful Super Tuscan! Black cherry and blackberry fruit. Hints of herbs and black pepper. Smooth and silky. Very dark color. Hint of saline. Rustic yet elegant. Outstanding! Revisited in February 2020 and still terrific! — 8 years ago
Sept 16, 2017. Dinner w/ Jack D and friend Mark. They brought wine. Sangiovese 60%, Cabernet Sauvignon 25%, Merlot 15%. Lovely Tuscan. Smooth and easy to drink. Luscious fruit w/ some spice. — 9 years ago
CVed 12/27/16. Lovely nose of red cherries and fruits and earthiness and balance. Carries through to palate and finish. Interesting blend. Distinct from the cabs. — 10 years ago

Everything I love in a red wine. Happy I chose this one. Ripe dark fruit, spice, in nose and taste. Dry. My nw favorite. — 7 years ago
What a surprise! A must try, this 2015 vintage is exceeded my expectations. It brings everything I expect from Tuscany and more. Unfortunately I drank it to fast to experience all the changes to come. Thankfully I have more. — 7 years ago

Montevertine's Pian del Ciampolo blend is 90% Sangiovese, rest with equal amounts of Canaiolo and Colorino, deep Ruby with purple hues, aromas of red fruits, floral, herbs and smoky oak. On the palate flavors of cherry and currants with dried herb notes, cacao and tobacco notes. Fine ripe sweet tannins, long finish ending with fruit and an earthy herb spice character. Nice! — 9 months ago
A great year for the InZinerator. We never get tired of it. — 10 months ago
On the nose a stable, dark fruit, wet leaves, licorice. A big wine in other words, this Super Tuscan blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 15% Alicante, 10% Sangiovese and 5% Cabernet Franc. On the palate there is softness, round, dark fruit, some tobacco. A lively wine with a bite. Great surprise. — 6 years ago

Smooth! Oak, chocolate, berries (red and black), but much too young. Next bottle in 2021! — 12 years ago
Birth year magnum. No other super Tuscan does it quite like this. And the current stuff just shouldn't be opened yet — 12 years ago
