Gripping and delicious — 20 days ago
Dark and murky ruby color with a slight garnet rim. Aromas of leather, ripe black cherry and a good deal of barnyard funk. Flavors of earth, coffee, mushrooms with a very slight amount of dried black cherry fruit. Finish is a bit bitter but the wine is still well balanced. Exceptionally tertiary with well softened tannins. Frankly, this wine was fine (if you can accept the lower fruit levels) but I was (it was not flawed) honestly expecting more from this highly regarded producer. — 2 months ago
Very full bodied and heavy. Cherry leather pepper . Good with a steak . A little sweet we had at felsina winery in Tuscany — a month ago
The savory and youthful 2013 Argiano BDM displays an attractive ruby/garnet, Bing cherry appearance, as the color is backed up by perfumed aromatics and flavors of all types of red berries and cherries.
It is nicely balanced and well structured with juicy acidity, and supporting, light dusty tannins at the long, lip smacking finish. Overall, very Pinot Noir-ish. The combination of aging in barrique and large oak barrels creates an interesting complexity and texture not typically found in other BDMs. Great stuff!! — a month ago
Not as good as the '21. This year offers 40% Merlot, 32% Cab Franc, 23% Cab Sauv and 5% Petite Verdot. IGT. Olive tamponade, a bit dusty and cedar opener. Full mouthfeel and very drinkable now, but this might benefit from a time out for a while. — a month ago

From makers of Sassicaia, Deep Ruby color with aromas of fresh red & black fruits and earthy floral notes, 55% Cab Sauv, 27% Merlot & 18% Cab Franc. On the palate flavors of cherry, plum & blackberry with floral, licorice, cacao and earthy notes, well integrated. Fine tannins, a wine with a solid structure, elegant and smooth, long finish, great mouth feel ending with fruit and oak. Will age well over next 5+ years. Nice! — 2 months ago
In 1877, Illario and Leopoldo Ruffino laid the foundations of their dream to make Italian wines from the heart of Tuscany. Medium Ruby red color with aromas of dark berry fruit and earthy spice, blend of 80% Sangiovese with rest Merlot and Cab Sauv. On the palate flavors of black cherry and plum with tobacco, pepper and earthy cedar notes. Full-bodied, well balanced soft drying tannins on a smooth medium+ finish. Grab some Italian food and enjoy the great value wine. Consistent quality, a Fav!! — 21 days ago

Medium garnet , quite a quite wide garnet rim . This is quite spiced on the nose with , some red cherries , spiced raspberries and sweet anise, liquorice, some notes dried herbal , black tea hints . On the palate this is medium bodied with quite high acidity , more spiced cherry , raspberry and herbal hints , with the sweet anise notes also . Not very long on the palate but quite well balanced . Spiced , sweet fruited profile, quite light in style for a Brunello. This is drinking well now and I wouldn’t leave it very much longer, no upside from here , enjoy over the next 3-4 years. Next day , showing a little more dried fruits and spice , anise , still hanging in there , but nothing to gain by keeping. — 2 months ago

Fresh and will go for a very long time. Tannins are pretty chunky but still a nice wine. — 7 days ago
