Fantastic Chianti. When you have to fight over the last drop, that’s always a good sign. Hard to pin down, though what stood out, it was certainly balanced, dark fruit vibrancy, but not really complex. Fine polished tannins and uplifting g minerality probably drove us to the next sip. Yeah, great Chianti. Even more intriguing is the story behind this winery. Ever heard of ‘Spaghetti Westerns?’ Well the famous movie director of these films was also at ground level of reinventing and reinvigorating Tuscany as we know it today. here is their story on our blog site https://spokenwines.com/our-blog/from-film-to-vineyard-the-legacy-of-rocca-delle-mac%C3%ACe — 2 months ago

In 1877, Illario and Leopoldo Ruffino laid the foundations of their dream to make Italian wines from the heart of Tuscany. Medium Ruby red color with aromas of dark berry fruit and earthy spice, blend of 80% Sangiovese with rest Merlot and Cab Sauv. On the palate flavors of black cherry and plum with tobacco, pepper and earthy cedar notes. Full-bodied, well balanced soft drying tannins on a smooth medium+ finish. Grab some Italian food and enjoy the great value wine. Consistent quality, a Fav!! — 25 days ago
Trader Joe’s Classic!!!! This usually stinks. But not in this stellar 2021 vintage. Not super complex but more on the elegant side. I would think this will age for 10 years or so. After 24 hours even better and more convincing. Quite tannic! Grab it by the case while it is there the 2022 will be awful (my prediction). And at 20 bucks…….. — 3 months ago

Deep Ruby color with aromas of dark fruits, spice and toasty oak. On the palate flavors of cherry, blackberry and plum with spice, herbs, cacao, tobacco and toasty tones from 18 months of oak aging. Full ripe tannins you can bite into, long finish ending with fruit and an earthy toasty spice character. Nice! Will age! — a month ago
3.5. Quite a wonderful Maremma Toscana. Deep fruit with some up-front spiciness. On sale for $22.99, regularly $26.99. The 2020 vintage is lovely. — 23 days ago

Vino vValtellinese — my favorite. Still young but juicy, minty, red fruit, brown sugar, etc. Better than 2015 vintage. — 18 days ago
