Black currant flavor. Roasted. Gentle acidity. Tannic. Need to wait for years. 2013 @8800, Academy D, 240128 — 3 months ago
I know that 2012 wasn’t a perfect year but this still underperformed. Have a lot of nostalgia for D’Issan after Emmanuel Cruse (the proprietor) oversaw the Bordeaux tasting competition where my wife and I met. Very little fruit on the mid palate. Bit thin on the finish. Definitely left bank - the nose is very nice. Good pairing with beef tenderloin slow roasted but still a smidge below what I hoped. — 4 months ago
With Jim and Michele. Great wine October 2023 — 6 months ago
Just coming to maturity and drinking beautifully. Still lots of primary aromas and flavors - cassis, blackberry, black cherry, elderberry, red plum, violet, vanilla, baking spice, forest floor, tobacco leaf, cedar
Great balance of fruit with velvet tannins and acidity for structure.
67% Cab Sauvignon, 25% merlot and 8% Cab Franc. Twenty-two months in barrel, 45% new. — 9 months ago
Young but more complex than similar aged. Great with cheeses, spicy chicken, and Christmas cookies! 😬 — 7 years ago
Christmas gift, drank with ham and scalloped potatoes. — 8 years ago
Smooth Margaux red blend Bordeaux, plummy with fine tannin and low acidity, enjoyed with seafood at the Lighthouse Restaurant, Ft. Myers, FL (also NHSL) — a month ago
Good smooth Bordeaux but not remarkable. Straightforward and lacking complexity. — 2 months ago
Bright at the outset with apple, cherries, peaches then transitions to touch of smoke and wood while the acidity carries forward through the finish. — 3 months ago
12/23 surprisingly solid. Nice balance, good fruit, strong, backbone, interesting spicy notes, good good tanins 89 — 4 months ago
Pepper, oak, black current and a bit of cassis. Soft chewy tannin. Would want to try in several years. — 5 months ago
Surprisingly good for a second wine in an tricky vintage. Gorgeous nose has cedar, roasted peanuts, cassis, purple florals, warm gravel. Nose whack of flavor up front, then lightens up as the palate progresses. A bit of gritty tannin in the finish. Would I prefer a bit more concentration and length? Sure. But this is quite nice. — 7 months ago
Deep ruby color.
Aromas of dark fruit, spice.
Dry. Flavors of cassis, licorice, spice, blackberry leaf. Rich, firm tannins. Great acidity.

Earthy and spicy with licorice black cherry and espresso in the nose this forward open medium bodied wine ends with soft textures and red berries. 63 % Cabernet 32% merlot 5 % can franc the wind is deep ruby in color smoke coffee flint and black cherry notes. Aged in 50% new oak this Stephane Derenoncout consulted wine is rich round and supple finishing with ripe sweet black cherry jam and espresso bean — 7 years ago
I thought it was okay for the price point. I.E. over rated. It was a bigger wine for what I expected and not as complex as desired. — 7 years ago
Paired well with some A5 Wagyu — a month ago
Was good with brisket. Some tobacco and earth. — a month ago
Dark red. Inviting nose and medium full palate of black cranberry, cassis, and red plum. Juicy (medium plus) acidity from entry to medium long, palate continuing finish. Medium tannins that assert more as time and air pass. An excellent vintage of an excellent second label Margaux from Giscours. Consumate food wine that's upscale enough for filet mignon but priced for burgers off the grill, and will complement everything in between. Drink now through 2036. — 4 months ago
Very nice Margaux from a year I haven’t had before. Wonderful nose. Decanted 6h which I recommend at this point - or check back in after 3-5 years. Tannins and oak are there, relatively classically Bordeaux. Needs food - as a pairing with lamb tagine, very nice. — 5 months ago
Pale lemon in colour. Barb tasted before I did and could smell the Sauvignon Blanc immediately - musky, grapefruit (gooseberry and a trace of passion fruit as it warmed up). Medium + intensity on the palate - fully integrated oak and diminished acidity - citrus and grapefruit. Overall - delicate and restrained. An excellent wine but paying a lot for the label. — 8 months ago
Decanted for 1.5hrs, but really opened up after 2-2.5hrs. Initially muted but as more time elapsed notes of black cherry blackberry followed by mushrooms, dominant dark earthiness and leather. Appropriately balanced acidity along with medium tannin that lingered well. Really nice! — 4 years ago
Tons of fruit on the nose, pomegranate, Tart delicious salivating fruit! Soft tannins. Great time to drink this! — 7 years ago
At first sip it's a silky light Bordeaux but then it develops into a full body wine with a bold finish. — 9 years ago
