Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two hours. The 2022 pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart orchard fruit: passion fruit, lemon, sea spray, white flowers, lanolin and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ with a wooly texture and lovely minerals. Drinking now through 2037. — 3 months ago
In a good spot with room to improve. Beautiful texture, mousse, micro beaded.
Notes of Honeycomb and butterscotch. Both yellow & white peaches, nectarines, tropical melons, pineapple, understated lemon, cream, baguette, beautiful fine chalky powder, saline notes, sea spray, yellow & spring flowers, excellent soft acidity and a well made elegant, smartly polished finish that lasts nearly two-minutes.

My new Favorite white, just love mountain fruit! Named for mountain range dividing Napa & Sonoma, old stone winery dug into side of dormant volcano crater in 1889, remained in production ever since. Pale lemon with aromas of Tropical and stone fruit with complex spice and floral notes. On the palate flavors of apple, pear and citrus with light oak and nutty tones, fresh and vibrant, well integrated. Long finish ending with fruit and flinty mineral characteristics. Long aging potential. Nice! — 3 years ago
From a good looking bottle with a nice fill. Medium gold. Moves swiftly and heavily in the glass. Great nose immediately. Notes of lemon peel, apricot, orange, tan spice, crushed white stone and a little ginger. Crazy in the mouth. Tons of zip and acidity with sweet fruit to match. Layers of enjoyment. Best showing of the many bottles I’ve had of this. Yum. — 6 years ago
Impressive body & viscosity. Rosemary, lemon peel, green banana, nice acidity — 8 years ago
Smooth, lemon zest, refreshing, citrus. — 9 years ago
Medium lemon colour . Very little perlage . This is quite mature on the nose with some orange rind , touch of honied brioche , dried chanterelles and some oyster shell . Some roasted almond , really quite intense on the palate , high refreshing mineral tinged acidity , orange peel , nutty , slightly honied long and quite electric finish. This holds up pretty well in the glass becoming more chalky and mineral. Drink now and over the next few years, at least on this showing . — 3 months ago
Based on day 2. I really enjoyed this as it opened up. Great texture with lemon curd, stone fruit, marzipan and lively acidity. So well balanced. — 6 months ago
Continuing quest to taste as many 22’s as possible.
Beautiful honeysuckle notes, Meyer lemon and spring flowers on the nose.
The palate show a good presence of Meyer lemon right at the top. Butterscotch notes, honeysuckle-honey comb, apricots, yellow peach, ripe, syrupy pineapple, cream, slivered almonds, saline, flinty notes, limestone marl, toast, some soft white spices, lots of moist to mushy chalk, yellow & spring flowers, excellent, round acidity and a well made, elegant, round, lush, finish that lasts 90 seconds landing on spice & minerals.
This will merit another point of two with appropriate age but still hard to justify $240 a bottle. The strong lemon presence needs time to calm. — 7 months ago
Muscadet! Lovely straight sea water mineral lemon goodness. Had with some great oysters Christmas Eve. — 4 years ago
Wow - awesome juice - salty, lemon, lime, mouth watering stuff with rocks and some body! — 5 years ago
The nose on this baby is petrol all the way. Golden color adds to the excitement. The wine has electric acidity, lemon rind and honeyed apricots. A strong mineral core to this wine also lends structure. The finish is niceat 45 seconds. The only thing missing is a little more bottle age. This baby could have used a few more years to let the tertiary flavors develop. With the acidity in the bottle I would wait at least another decade if patient. Definitely a wine for next summit. @Ted Corvey @Kyle Harvey — 8 years ago
A lovely, spirited Soave Classico from the Pieropan, utterly fresh and bright with notes of Meyer lemon zest, white flowers, dried honey, and almond extract. Aged on fine lees in concrete, the effect of which is largely textural, lending minerally undertones of wet pomace, and slight autolytic character. A nice lingering finish. Clean and delicious, and I might add, great QPR. — 10 years ago
A wine from Jorge Ordóñez and his winemaking team. Pale lemon color with crisp stone fruit and citrus aromas. On the palate flavors of apple, pear and melon with lemon citrus, consistent offering from La Cana. Medium finish ending with fruit, spice and mineral tang. Nice value. — 3 months ago
This is a BENCHMARK dry Bordeaux blanc made w/ 65% Sauvignon Blanc, lending aromatics, acidity, and brightness; and 35% Semillon, lending weight, body, and softness.
It was fermented in stainless steel, then aged 10 months in oak (25% new), with routine bâtonnage.
It has a brilliant lemon hue with concentrated aromas and flavors of lemon curd, vanilla, cream, gooseberry, freshly cut grass, boxwood, chervil, lemongrass, white peach, white blossom, cheese rind, gunflint, and wet stones. It’s dry with mouth-watering acidity, a medium (+) body, medium alcohol (13% ABV), and a lingering, elegant finish.
It’s complex and balanced, with runway to age and a capacity to develop layers of tertiary characteristics such as honey, dried fruit, and nuttiness.
It comes from the Pessac-Léognan AOC in the Graves region, on the “left bank” of Bordeaux, just south of the Haut-Medoc; an appellation known for its high quality red and white wines. — 5 months ago
2017 vintage. Lemon zest and saline nose with toasty oak hovering about. Medium body with striking, brilliant yellow Chartreuse color. Initially and throughout, the wine was as taut as piano wire. Decanted 5 minutes after opening and tasted 30 mins after the decant. That toasty oak char came to play along with plenty of acidity. Quite the mouthful of wine currently. A tad tempestuous and in definite need of a mandatory, half-decade time out before being allowed to participate at recess again. 12.09.24. — 6 months ago
Cheers to top quality bubbles from the Anderson Valley of the North Coast of California!
This wine is made with a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes.
It’s beautifully balanced with layers of autolytic characteristics like toasted almond, pie crust, brioche, biscuit, marzipan, nougat, thanks to 5 YEARS on the lees…
It has a creamy mouthfeel maintaining freshness with notes of white peach, apple, raspberry, lemon zest, white blossom…
Mousse is fine and persistent. — 7 months ago
Very reduced and punchy. Matchsticks, lemon zest, oily intense citrus fruit. Pure puligny lean punch. A long time ahead but this is fantastic — 5 years ago

Lemon curd and a zesty acidity that lands with some sweetness and then bite.
Pairing with an avocado really mellowed this wine out and made it delicious.
Lots of tension and bright lemon citrus flavor. Touch of lime. — 2 months ago
