Deep garnet. Blackberry, ripe black plum, cherry, and vanilla, layered with notes of black pepper, licorice, smoke, leather, and earthy spice. Full-bodied and fruit-forward on the palate with velvety texture and a long finish. Balanced with medium acidity and tannins. There’s a touch of rustic mustiness initially, but it opens beautifully with air. Let it breathe and you’ll be rewarded. It’s only going to get more interesting with age. — 6 months ago
Reddish in color with medium intensity.
Pretty and complex nose, and medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with raspberries, cherries, spices, very light oak, licorice and chocolates.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.
This is a beautiful red blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Elegant and nicely balanced. Rich and fruit forward. Very fresh tasting, and easy drinking.
Still young, but already complex and interesting. The high alcohol is well integrated already.
Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.
A blend of destemmed grapes from over 100 year old vines. 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvedre. The Grenache is aged in concrete vats, while the Mourvedre is aged in new French oak barrels.
16% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

I’ve been so eager to open the 2019 Les Cailloux, the first of a case that I bought a couple of years ago following a visit to C9DP during which I first tried the wine. This is an exemplary wine for the region, predominantly old-vine Grenache with around 30% (I think) other varieties, which is both powerful and pure, striking a lovely balance between a modern, terroir-driven style and the natural rusticity of the appellation. I enjoyed this so much I made no notes, so can’t say much more other than that I’m delighted to have a case of this and would recommend it to anyone interested in fresh, pure and ageworthy examples of Châteauneuf. — a month ago
Nose: candied pink rose petal. Sorta closed. Lovely.
Palate: well made. Mid season cherry.
Very good length

A lovely tarry note initially amongst the red fruits. On the medium weight palate sweet and savoury red fruits. Love CdP from a good year like this one. 70% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 10% Cinsault and the remaining 5% split between Muscardin, Counoise and Vaccarese. Completely destemmed and fruit driven. Soft pliant tannins. — 3 months ago
Deep ruby, lovely maturing aromas of black cherry, strawberry, smoke, lavender, thyme, forest floor, grilled meat, blackberry. Fine balance of acidity ands tanning, fresh on the palate with great depth and finesse. Long finish, ten more years ahead. — 3 months ago

GSM that is 67 percent Grenache and 22 percent Syrah. Lots of fruit makes this delightful. May 2025. — 2 months ago
Merlot dominant in a left bank. Rare but definitely an experience. Plush wine with good tannins and a great evolving flavor. Black currants, touches of plums, graphite and a wine that evolves throughout the experience. An age worthy wine. — 3 months ago
