Continuing quest to taste as many 22’s as possible.
Beautiful honeysuckle notes, Meyer lemon and spring flowers on the nose.
The palate show a good presence of Meyer lemon right at the top. Butterscotch notes, honeysuckle-honey comb, apricots, yellow peach, ripe, syrupy pineapple, cream, slivered almonds, saline, flinty notes, limestone marl, toast, some soft white spices, lots of moist to mushy chalk, yellow & spring flowers, excellent, round acidity and a well made, elegant, round, lush, finish that lasts 90 seconds landing on spice & minerals.
This will merit another point of two with appropriate age but still hard to justify $240 a bottle. The strong lemon presence needs time to calm. — 5 months ago
Orange peel marmalade, apricot, spices?, tropical fruits (notably pineapple). Honey with subtle (Brazilian nut) nutty quality. Very faint hint of cheese. Rich, fairly complex, and lasting. Just lovely. — a year ago
Superb!!! Dried Figs, Apricot, honey, and flower. A nice level of sweetness and tartness…kind of like baked apples. Great with our cheese on the beach. — 3 years ago
Florals, honey, peaches. Mmmmm — 4 years ago
Light gold. Looks young. Took 5 hours to open up and show its stuff. In hour 6 this was cruising. Saline and sea shells, wispy lemon fruit, some honey, some white stone. The guesses from the fellas were 2002 Rav Clos and 1996 Rav Valmur. Shows how these properly stored aged Raveneaus can age effortlessly. — 5 years ago

Honey, apricot & a little fresh mint. — 8 months ago
NOSE: stewed peaches, apricot, pumpkin pie spice, marshmallow, cocoanut cream, vanilla, sweet cream, sweet tobacco … a dash of nutmeg, nuts sweetened with date honey …mellow cheese. This smells great.
TASTE: buttery buttery butterscotch and light caramel … wood and nuts … tres leches cake … caramelized peaches … Like a caramel-y complex peaches and cream. Beeswax when warmer. Quite delicious. 94. — 2 years ago
#sauternes so sweet and balanced. Third of three bottles for my wife’s 40th birthday. We saved the best for last, as it turns out. Honeyed layers as this gently warms in a Burgundy bowl - caramel, marzipan, toasted almonds, some petrol, apricot jam. Tastes exactly how it smells with the acidity taking a step back from the honey sweetness swirling around a luscious oily mouthfeel. Touch of orange pith bitterness on the finish - lovely wine. Indeed it pairs well with Indian food but the force of this wine could have easily matched even spicier dishes. Beautiful wine and what’s amazing is it seemed this wine could easily go another 20 years. Good Sauternes is ever youthful. — 4 years ago
Medium gold, heavy in the glass. Awesome aged Raveneau nose. Notes of citrus, kimmeridgian white stone and light colored dirt, some honey, some spice. Great mouth feel, with acidity that powered up over 4-5 hours. Awesome with some angel hair pasta and shrimp, looking out over the Kohala Coast. — 4 years ago
Very good, pronounced sweet wine with notes of honey, yellow apple, mango, golden raisins and juicy, dripping peach. High acidity, low alc, full body. — 5 years ago
Accompanied a cheese course this evening, delivering just the right level of sweetness. Holding its own, with some quite prominent apple and touch of honey. — 4 months ago
2009 vintage ( half bottle). Looks more evolved than the 2010 tasted alongside. But it is also much more complex. Intense perfume showing an abundance of noble rot, with roasted nuts, pineapple, honey, and a hint of thyme. Concentrated and layered, perfectly balanced and very long. Seems to be a notch above the 2010 today — 6 months ago
My first time drinking a white wine from Lopez De Heredia and it’s unlike any wine I’ve ever had before. Very fragrant and a lot of different tastes coming to the forefront. Bruised apple, quince, beeswax and honey. Some almond, slight oxidation and salinity like a fino sherry. This is a big and unusual wine. Not something I would drink daily, but enjoyed it as much on a taste as on an intellectual level. — 3 years ago
Besides having a great, cool label - Herman Story wines are so spectacular. This is not your standard “red blend” & the Tempranillo/Petit Verdot give a great complexity. Easily paired w/ a huge range of food. — 4 years ago
Honey, apricot, a bit of hay. Paired with apple pie. — 5 years ago

Honey and ripe pear. Lifted aromas. Great density on the palate and lingering acidity. — 4 months ago
