Improved with age. Dark fruits. Leathery. Dry. Tobacco. — 6 months ago
Cedar, fruit in the background, coconut?. Mature and delicious — 6 months ago
Delicious. Notes of tobacco, raspberry, plum, cocoa, dessert, and tar on the nose. Medium-plus bodied with a palate to match. Subtle tannins balance a rich, fruit-forward palate. Tons of red and purple fruit. Deep, dark Pinot Noir that’s still light enough to sip or pair with food. — 6 months ago
Clear, medium ruby in color; on the nose, it's clean with pronounced primary and secondary aromas of cherries, hibiscus, and charred oak; on the palate, it's dry with medium acidity, medium tannins, high (but well integrated) alcohol, medium body, and pronounced primary flavors of stewed strawberries, black plums, and camphor with a long finish. This wine is balanced and complex. Overall, I rate this wine as very good. Nellie likes it, too. — 7 months ago

Deep Ruby color with aromas of dark fruits, spice and toasty oak. On the palate flavors of cherry, blackberry and plum with spice, herbs, cacao, tobacco and toasty tones from 18 months of oak aging. Full ripe tannins you can bite into, long finish ending with fruit and an earthy toasty spice character. Nice! Will age! — 6 months ago

Wonderful bottle !! — 6 months ago
Dark ruby color with a cranberry colored meniscus. Intense aromas of tobacco, wet soil, graphite and dried purple flowers with a subtle black fruit note. The savory palate also is full of tobacco, bramble, dried citrus, black tea and baker’s chocolate with just a bit of black berry/cherry/plum fruit. Hint of baking spices on the medium finish. Very low acidity and little in the way of tannin. Probably a bit past its prime but still quite complex. Extremely earthy and dense. Better with aeration and with food. Also better the second day. — 8 months ago

Tasted at Total Wine & bought a bottle. A little fruity. Not too bold. Good with steak. — 6 months ago
Splash decanted directly before service; enjoyed over the course of a few hours out of red Solo cups. The 1981 Gran Reserva Blanco pours, a golden color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of Khalas dates, dried apricot, black lemon, almonds, toasted coconut and marshmallow. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and the texture is waxy. A cerebral wine and just lovely stuff. Well stored bottles have a long life yet left ahead. Drink now with patience and plenty of air and through 2051. — 7 months ago
