I know Lyle Fass the importer will roast me at the stake for popping this so soon. A little darker than in the past. Classic E&M - the consistency from year to year is just ridiculous. Mountain meadows with thyme and gentian on the nose. In the glass elderberry , orange 🍊 zest, hint of tart underripe strawberry - lovely acidity. Needs to settle down. This is once again!!! the best Rose money can buy right now. How this winery does this beats me. Unfortunately not widely available if at all outside of the FASS email list. — 7 years ago

Spice notes on the nose, off-dry, medium acidity, good berry flavor, spiced honey notes, medium+ finish. Flavor profile would be along the lines of a lower alcohol and lower sugar Port. 12% abv, no sulfites added, and Kosher. Good on its own and with food. — 8 years ago

Coca Cola after 1h. 60% Cab Franc! A ton of Brett which goes away then Boysenberry oak and shear awesomeness. Elderberry cherry 🍒 perhaps some Raspberry. Easily as good as many french wines aka Bordeaux. — 9 years ago

Soave often gets a bad reputation but this one is pretty good. The label says elderberry and hawthorn notes. I guess that is the slightly pungent, green nose and taste. It does have some more peach like fruit notes but quite subtle. Dry but not bland or acidic, the texture is quite lush for a light wine. Certainly quite enjoyable and a welcome change of pace for the price range. — 8 years ago

Drink Now! Dark berry and coffee on the nose. In the glass a little bit of refined earth. Dark cherry. Not very acidic. Herbal on the finish - Elderberry? Very elegant and delicate. The opposite of an in your face wine. A beautiful textbook Volnay. From a lesser vineyard but hey Mark Haisma is a magic winemaker. An excellent food wine salmon, duck or coque aux vin. Was sold by Amitie Wines online. But they will not sell the 2013 as the quality was not there. — 10 years ago

Burgundian Grand Cru from Germany decant 24h’s. Made by the late Bernhard Huber who died unfortunately of cancer much too early. Dark and big 🍷. Almost too highly extracted for my taste. Cassis, bark, mushrooms 🍄, dark berries - blackberry/elderberry blend! Direct from the Winery not available in the USA 😳. Very highly recommended! Visit the winery if you can it’s close to Freiburg in Baden the son is now running the show. — 8 years ago
