The 2022 Viognier K Art Den Hoed is spicy in the glass, wafting up with exotic florals, lime and young peach. It’s nearly glycerol in feel, with saline minerals and zesty acidity to balance. Opened yesterday, when it was breathtaking, notes from today. On the nose: candied ginger, molasses, cinnamon spice, honey. On the palate: lovely spice and acidity, good sweetness, but beautifully tempered by the lively acidity. Spicy ginger and molasses on the finish. Yum.
