Forgot this wine, no indication of vintage except on the cork! A flashy earthy dark fruited presentation straight out of some wilderness, firm almost woodsy palate and good finish. Not at all what I would have thought of as Gamay. Looked like it didn’t present well several years ago. Age difference? — 9 days ago

This is a fabulous Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Napa Valley.

Dark ruby in color with a brick rim.

Full bodied and smooth.

Dry and fruity on the palate with medium acidity.

Showing blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, leather, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, earth, light vegetables, coffee and black pepper.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 23 year old is elegant and powerful. Rich and extracted, with a nice mouthfeel.

Good by itself as a sipping wine. Well balanced with great complexity. I just love these Napa Bordeaux blends.

A great quality wine that will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.

A blend of of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot.

Earthy nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing black currants, plums, cooked cherries, earth, wet leaves, herbs, light vegetables, coffee, eucalyptus, mediterranean spices and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 28 year old is still drinking very nicely. A great Second Growth Bordeaux.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after 45 minutes of airtime.

Complex and engaging. Will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.

A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot. Aged in (65% new) French oak barrels.

13% alcohol by volume.

This beautiful 24-year-old Bordeaux from the great 2000 vintage seems still young, although decanted for 4 hours.

Elegant and powerful. Rich, yet subdued. I loved the nose, that showed lots of wild flowers.

Wine Spectator 91 points. Robert Parker 92 points.

This Fifth growth is nicely balanced with nice complexity at this point. Still needs a few more years in the bottle to mature properly.

I've had many vintages of this wine, and so far the 2009 was my favorite.

Good by itself and better with food. Paired nicely with dried meats and cheeses.

Medium ruby with wide garnet rim . On the nose quite red fruit focused with earthy , sous bois and truffle notes , grafite coffee and cedar . On the palate medium bodied with a mix of red and dark fruit, soy , tobacco , iron filings and cedar. Quite good acidity , with fine tannin , balanced alcohol . +2 hour decant(decent chunky/fine sediment). A wondrous dark garnet with bricking. On the nose: perfumed notes of stewed plum, currants, old leather, cigar box, smoked meat, truffles, and touch of mint. Taste: silky, exquisite wine with red cherry/plum, old leather, dusty chiseled granite, bitter chocolate, cedar, and a dry graphite/coffee long finish. YUM! Drinks beautifully and should hold for more years of awesomeness. — 20 days ago

Coffee rye with baked, black currants, dried blackberry, cherrywood, cedar, light pepper, potable, African violet, fig, sarsaparilla and thyme. Grippy, grainy tannins awash in tart black cherry, cinnamon and savory. Young and green with tight tart edges, but open just enough to appreciated the complexities. Underrated sleeper vintage that just might come together. Finish is obfuscated at this juncture. Espresso is my guess, though!

Still medium ruby with quite narrow garnet pink rim . Quite high toned on those nose , just a touch of volatility, and showing quite a lot of the ripeness with dried blackberry and blackcurrant , grafite , tobacco , soy. Quite dense on the palate with more of the ripe , slightly dried fruits , currants , with touches of cedar , sweet tobacco , coffee , undergrowth and grafite . Quite sweet on the palate , with balanced acidity and slightly drying , pinched tannins , but quite decent length . This is probably at peak now but can be enjoyed over the next 5-8 years I would imagine , overall quite successful . — 3 months ago
