Good wine but not great. Showing some weaknesses of the vintage. Lacking complexity, depth and integration.

Young and fresh on the palate, chilled keeping it light, has a soft coffee note initially that floats towards a dark blackberry and blackcurrant fruit finish. Pleasant wine to enjoy pre dinner in preparation to accompany a light red meat or pasta.

Tar, cedar, wet forest soil, oak, black currant and a touch of meat juice. Aristocratic médoc through and through. The palate is very well made with a strong acid drive keeping things light and fresh. There is a good matter on the side and a good width. The mouthfeel is velvety at first and then tannins with a grain kick in right in the middle of the palate powering a long finish with blackcurrant, coffee, that grainy, soft mouthfeel that lasts for ever and a day. It's not big, it's not in your face, the acid drive makes it light and fresh but it's a good well-born 15-year old wine. Can't wait to taste 2007 through to 2014 that are waiting in my cellar.

Take this with a grain of salt because at this point in the night my taste buds were a little scorched. Very fragrant red fruit on the nose. Initially this was still tremendously wound up. I wish we had opened it and decanted for longer as after two hours it was still slightly tight but the lovely fruit flavors persisted over cocoa and tobacco leaf undertones. All in, I wish I had let this rest for a few more years, but still drinking pretty well now.

Amazing Wine of LAGRANGE this vintage is one of the best bottle in Saint Julien so fresh colour, ripe nose, fresh mint, blackcurrant, smoked aromas. Silky tanins with a lot of elegance and long finish. Just great!
