Chateau Larose Faurie

Château Le Grand Faurie

Saint Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

2020 vintage. Investigating +-$20 red Bordeaux, part two. PNP. Some decent depth for the price. Medium body. Good concentration. A little, minty note amongst the chunk. Finish hangs in there for a spell. In this price range, would tap this again. 5.28.24. — 10 days ago

Good freshness. Not a bruiser. Nimble with food. Lovely wine for the price. — 2 months ago

Château Le Grand Faurie

St. Émilion Grand Cru 2020

This is not quite the steal it once was but still the best QPR by miles at Trader Joe’s. A nice right bank Bordeaux with acidic cherries, pencil shavings, vegetal notes, and grippy tannins. — 8 months ago

Château Gruaud Larose

Larose de Gruaud St. Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 1986

Showing well with mostly black fruits, cedar, leather, underbrush, savory spices, floral & cigar ash — 6 days ago

Château Faurie de Souchard

Grand Cru Classé Saint-Emilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Absolutely delicious, love it. Don’t want to transcribe my handwritten notes, but lots of fruit, some clear minerals, and a fresh balancing acidity. Creamy cassis is the clearest impression. 93. — 14 days ago

Château Talbot

Saint-Julien Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 1986

1986 vintage. 5 bottles tasted for a 1986 vintage BDX dinner @ Mister A's-San Diego. This was up against other 1986's Pichon-Lalande, Beychevelle, Gruaud-Larose, Montrose and Cos. Double decanted and tasted over 5 hours. Respectable sed. Effin pop and pour now. Right right now. The clear winner. So good with balance and enough fruit without having to reach or rationalize. If you're not able to access for 7-10 years, you should be okay. Delicious. 3.14.24. — 3 months ago
