Belle pureté, fruits croquants, framboises, fraise, la finesse, longue finale — 4 years ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 2020 “Aux Lieux-Dits” pours a deep garnet with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of fresh, ripe brambles, garrigue, red flowers, and inorganic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. There is a solid sense of place from this expression. Drink now through 2035. — 5 months ago
Merlot dominates this blend but there is some Cabernet Sauvignon and some Cabernet Franc blended in. Medium ruby color with a slight clear meniscus. Fruit forward aromas and flavors of blackberry, black cherry, dark plum, baking spices and cedar. Medium-plus finish. Medium body and very silky tannins. Well balanced/layered acidity and a very silky texture. A bit more austere than a traditional Medoc red blend. At peak. — 9 months ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of three days. Consistent throughout. The 2021 “Grange le Duc” pours a garnet color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with gorgeous notes of ripe strawberry, Montmorency cherry, salmiakki, freshly ground black pepper, dried green herbs, salt water taffy, and sous bois. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. This is a classic, rustic expression of Burgundy that simply blows my mind. The nose alone, slays. Drink now through 2031. — 8 days ago
