Pauillac power. At the same time it is a well constructed wine. Fine and pretty mid palate with shut by a harsh finish which will smoothen with time. 92 + — 18 days ago
Full bodied, dense, deep ruby Bordeaux. On the nose: dark mulberry fruit, cedar, & a touch of eucalyptus/camphor. On the palate: dark fruit, cedar and light tannins. After 40 minutes decanted the tannins recede and the soft fruit is delicious. This wine is fully mature and a terrific offering from Medoc. If you have it or can get it, drink now and enjoy! — a month ago
2020 vintage. Big, darkly-fruited nose that rolls over to the flavors. Medium body. Great complexity for initial and mid-palates, Finish is where things drop off a cliff. Solid banger for the price. If only some of that impressive, frontal assault could be transferred to the back end, we'd be in clover. Nice, first-time BDX to get the palate rolling/draw people in tho. 3.15.24. — 2 months ago
Old lady holding her own very well. Mellowed but still lovely. — 2 months ago
Dark black fruits but also earthiness on the nose, light on the palate with red cherry, smooth acidity, big but fine-grained tannins. This one needs food (vs the one I had earlier with the movie). — 2 months ago
It has something really unique as always. But it’s missing that intensity.

NOSE: mild, cooked fruit, a little carob. Inoffensive but not especially inviting.
TASTE: cooking spices, chicory, ash, a little bitter —unsweetened minerally dark chocolate - red fruit barely present and dried. Very balanced and elegant. This is going to kill with the herb roasted chicken I’m about to eat. 91. — a month ago

Alessandro Dalle Carbonare
More expressive than HB.
Very elegant, deep and austere.
At the same time it’s able to be expressive.
