Similar to prior notes:
Nose has Maraschino cherry juice, mashed strawberry/banana and red delicious apple peel.
Palate has sweet strawberry, banana peel, ripe red currant and light green herb notes.
The wine is 100% DeChaunac, a more common varietal for colder climates, like Ontario; fruit is sourced locally (FLX region) from Sheldrake Point. — 5 years ago

Blend of 96% Sauv Blanc with 4% Sauv Gris adding an interesting dynamic to the wine & distinctive aromas (prior to ‘18 vintage some Semillon added). Pale lemon color, citrus, tropical & floral aromas. On the palate peach, melon, herb & earthy tones, well balanced with acidity, smooth yet robust on a long finish ending rich with wet stone character. Good value! A Fav!! Very consistent! — 4 years ago
This wine hit 18 on top 100 list in 2017. Best known for Sparkling Wines, served at White House since 1985. Pale salmon color, a blend of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay & aged 3 years prior to release, showing aromas of red fruit with citrus and biscuit notes. On the palate apple, strawberry and cherry flavors with orange zest, earthy yeasty spice and tiny bubbles. The wine is well balanced, good acidity, some yeast and minerality on the long finish. — 6 years ago
Decanted about an hour prior. A positively gorgeous wine that just seemed to get better the longer it sat; gaining power and expressing more and more life. VA on the nose; to be expected. Dark cherry fruit, leather, mushrooms, kalamata olives. Unbelievably fresh. Winner. — 7 years ago
Coming from an exceptional vintage, the 2005 Viña Tondonia from R. Lopez de Heredia is a compelling blend of Tempranillo (75%), Garnacho (15%), Graciano and Mazuelo (10%), all sourced from their estate vineyards and aged for six years prior to bottling. This sensational wine opens with a bright bouquet of leather, cranberry, orange rind, forest floor and suggestions of black tea. Showing incredible focus and poise, this balanced Rioja is framed around flavors off leather, red cherry, teaberry, Mandarin orange and pipe tobacco that sit alongside brisk minerality, as the wine shows tremendous freshness and length through the long finish. This is an absolute stunning effort from this storied Estate and should continut to drink beautifully for years to come. Drink 2019-2035- 94 — 7 years ago

Pale straw yellow color with abundant tiny bubbles with bread crust, baked apple, and hazelnut aromas. On the palate, it shows a delicate creamy mousse with mineral accented baked apple and pear, toasted hazelnut, apricot and a hint of vanilla flavors. Long finish. 12.1% alcohol - From Roederer - "The wine for the dosage added to the L'ERMITAGE 2003 was 2004 wine liquor aged for 5.5 years in a French oak cask. Following disgorgement, L'ERMITAGE 2003 was aged an additional six months (minimum) on the cork prior to release. 52% Chardonnay, 48% Pinot Noir, 4% aged reserve wine (vintage '99)" — 12 years ago
This was the mystery bottle in our Super Tuscan tasting event. It was up against the 2016 Masseto, Ornellaia, Sassicaia, Solaia, Tignanello, and Redigaffi. This wine was outstanding. Probably one of the top 5 vintages of Insignia since 1994 in my opinion. Deep purple color, blueberry, blackberry, chocolate, some lead pencil and earth on the nose. Super smooth and elegant on the palate. Really well balanced fruit, tannins, acid. Long elegant finish of dark fruit and earthy with a touch of spice that lingered beautifully. We decanted this and all others about 2.5 hours prior to tasting. Second favorite of the night behind the Masseto which was a force of nature. — 5 years ago

Just can't get enough of this bottle, best QPR in Champagne, for my palate!
Prior notes apply; Nose is toasty brioche and a minerally quince jam. Ultra clean, creamy palate reflecting the same notes.
I love this wine! Thank you @Lyle Fass — 7 years ago

Wasn’t sure how this would turn out as it was a recent purchase and couldn’t vouch for prior storage. It was excellent. Would love to compare this vintage with a more recent one in the future. — 7 years ago
Double-decanted 3 hours prior to drinking. Dark purple-red color; still very primary aromas and flavors; a juicy and fruity wine. Long life ahead. For my taste, I'd wait another 5 years for the wine to acquire some secondary characteristics. Did pair well with rich pot roast dinner. — 10 years ago

The Txakoli that put Txakoli on the map! Tart pomegranate and grapefruit. Effervescence and salinity that feel like sea spray. A little less nuanced than prior vintages. Perfect with salmon bowls. — 4 years ago
