WotN in a group of giants. Ping-pongy fireworks of flavor bursts none of which cancels out the others. Kept coming back to this. Wow. — 3 months ago

It’s nice pleasant wine with floral, bitter almond and citrus aromas. Dry, balanced acidity, alcohol and body. Quiet short length. — 7 years ago
Needs to open, but a complex example of Tempranillo. Fruit comes through, but filtered through oak and vanilla. — 9 years ago

Always fun to explore an indigenous varietal from Spain - especially when Alvaro Palacios is involved. I found this Mencia wine to be medium bodied with good acidity and structured tannins that were present in this young wine but not obnoxiously so. The fruit is darker dried red fruit that proved to be a good compliment with grilled shishito peppers. It was so nice to dive into a new aspect of Spain’s wine history. — 5 months ago

This was firing on all cylinders tonight. Caught at a point v.s. my palate preferences. This still had fruit power but also polished, pleasantly drying tannins. It had a lot of spices braced by just the right amount of sweetness. Truly a joy to drink tonight. — 2 months ago
