Tangy and vivid. Punchy fruit plum and violets and rose with real clarity and intensity. Black pepper and vines taste. Very 2007. Loads of character. Great — a month ago

Back dating our reviews as we’ve been to this (excellent) restaurant twice in the past three days!
Superb seafood and this Chablis was the perfect accompaniment.
👏 to Michael the resident Sommelier for the selection.

Just a lovely burgundy. At 15+ years this has evened out. Not overly distinctive in any one register, and actually the tannins are definitely still present. But light on its feet with good depth and acid. — 2 months ago

"Cuvée Corcelette" Morgon Gamay 2022

The balance on this wine is amazing. At times it is crushable and others it is so complex and contemplative. Big crunchy fruit, stone, flowers, super long 30 second finish of strawberry fields and cherries. So good. — 4 months ago

Domaine des Comtes Lafon

Clos de la Barre Meursault Chardonnay 2017

Definitely a wine that needs to be served closer to room temperature than the fridge and let breathe just a bit. Complex bouquet comes alive as it warms with key lime pie, caramel apples, white flowers, and Chantilly cream underlaid by chalky marl aromas. Awesome, but then again, you expect that in this price range from a premier cru. — a month ago

Medium dark rubi robe, nose of dark cherries, spices and a hit of cloves and flowers. Oh so good in the mouth, medium bodied, complex, flowery and with some vanilla from the barriques. Fantastic. Roumier has gotten better over the years. — 2 months ago

I’ve noticed that, in recent years, many types of wines (particularly from various regions in France) seem blockier and less unified/integrated when young. Like all the components are there, but separated and not vertically integrated. And it seems more pronounced the hotter the growing season that year. I am beginning to think this is a result of global warming. What I don’t yet have a fix on is if time in bottle ultimately integrates these wines. Since I tend to drink wines on the younger side, I’m not sure I’ll ever get to the point where I can make a confident conclusion on that.
