Cappellano

Vino Aromatizzato Barolo Chinato Nebbiolo

Always a treat to drink Cappellano’s Chinato. Loads of mint and herbs. It’s like a tart and tannic amaro. — 2 months ago

Cascina Degli Ulivi

Semplicemente Vino Bellotti Bianco Cortese

Bright, effervescent red. Starts off kind of tasting like wet socks and then smooths and rounds out to dried apricot, green apple, and cinnamon, with a tart finish. Definitely something to worth chillingl! — 3 months ago

Figli d'Italia

Leone D'Oro Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano Sangiovese Blend

Cannot go wrong with 2018 vintage on most central Tuscan wines and this isn’t an exception. A nice, inexpensive, appealing and approachable Sangiovese driven with a gentle tannins, bright orange acidity, juicy cranberry, ripe red cherries and spice and subtle touch of oak. A perfect pizza companion wine for a casual drinking! — 4 months ago

D 66 Côtes Catalanes Grenache Blend 2009

9.3

As one can expect for a Dave Phinney wine, this is rich and ripe, but it has so much more to offer at year 14. Blueberry, fig, tobacco, cracked pepper, dried mushroom, and slight hint of barnyard. On the palate it’s juicy yet soft and ultra smooth. The finish is long, candied, and earthy.
My 2nd and last bottle. At its peak.

Viñas del Cenit

Cenit Vino de la Tierra de Zamora Tempranillo 2009

I have always been a fan of the wines from this domain. Now at age 15/16 this wine stands firm! Everything comes together with a nose of red fruit, licorice, leathersoap. The mouthfeeling is silky, cherries you know these big black ones, subtle acidity making you want to drink more but no need as the finish takes you over the minute. Fantastic wine! — 2 months ago

Southern Belle Vino de la Tierra de Murcia Red Blend

Had the 2016 on Derby Day 2025. Dark, rich fruits. Some chocolate with a hint of leather. Vanilla and caramel from the barrel. Very interesting wine. The artwork on the front label is absolutely fascinating. Had to do the back of the bottle to get it in this app. — 2 months ago

Gaudium Gran Vino Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2019

2019 vintage. A bit richer than expected. Slightly less grip than anticipated. This is a great wine “cheat code” for Spain and Rioja. Showing nicely now. 11.20.24. — 7 months ago

@Scott@Mister A’s-San Diego I really dig your reviews. Love your turn of phrase and prose that comes at describing wine from a different angle. Really connects. Keep it coming! Also, your Delectable handle begs to be looked up. Found your video with HospitaliTV - just finished. I really enjoyed your thoughts on half bottles and customer approach. Wish we lived even close to San Diego, but if we ever visit we’ll be sure to stop into Mister A’s. Cheers!
