My personal favorite of the night! Different than the other chiantis I got to taste. A tad mellower! — 8 years ago
I'm mad as Fausto! Fine, otherworldly, it blows apart my bias. Signore Albanesi, you are a thoughtful, kind and uncommonly talented man. — 8 years ago
Muga is always a crowd pleaser. Smooth, was great with our Spanish dinner — 9 years ago
I get tastes of honey and a little syrupy-ness to it. Quite delicious. — 9 years ago
Hazy yellow tinged gold color with aromatic, appealing quince, pear, orange marmalade, and wet stone aromas with a appealing oxidized note. On the palate it's well structured, full-bodied, and very fresh, yet lushly textured with fine grained well integrated tannins like an orange wine with tart quince, pear, orange and vanilla flavors, with a hint of baked nectarine and a long mineral driven finish. 12.5% alcohol — 10 years ago
Alicante/Sangiovese/Cilieglio blend. Mostly savory and meaty with some dark cherry, dried spice and a little menthol. — 10 years ago
Cesanese del Piglio DOCG 2011, Riserva Superiore, 15.5%. Bottle tasted in January 2015.
Color: dark, clean, with an orange tinge.
Nose: vinous, ethereal, very balsamic, spicy, green, rich, deep and a little toasted wood.
Taste: really very good, intense snd rich, fine and elegant tannins, pure licorice. Long persistence. — 10 years ago
Incredible depth of flavor and a healthy dose of funk. — 11 years ago
Kitty says it tastes like water...in a good way — 12 years ago
A really good Cava, especially when you consider the retail price ($12.99). Straw, golden apple, rosemary notes. Same on the palate, rich enough to mention it, huge finish, minerally, pretty, small, bubbles. I like it a lot, ya know, considering everything? — 8 years ago
Fantastic! Light and insanely crisp. The acid is about as vibrant as Albariño gets. Green apple and minerals. And the bottle was only 13€ in a restaurant. Can't beat it. — 9 years ago
An amazing wine for under $20 a bottle. Agree with Ian Cauble whose states "Lush full bodied palate". Made to go with food. Decanted for 45 minutes. — 9 years ago
Smoke. Tar. First time having a 100% Petit Verdot. Looking forward to a few years from now. — 10 years ago
Nice on its own. A little fruity but not too much. A bit of spice and smoke too — 10 years ago
Blind, I would have said this was a modern BDX. A touch brambly and dark with lifting acidity. What a surprise. A true delight with a porcini dusted porterhouse. Yum! — 10 years ago

It's hard to find a Ro-say to compete with this one! Plump, vibrant and concentrated. — 12 years ago
Very full bodied, between a dry and a sweet, but arching toward the dry side. Very delicious. — 7 years ago
Super smooth alone or with food. Had at a wine bar and kitchen in cedar park with burrata, pate, and beet salad — 8 years ago
Smooth with a bit of smoke and pepper. Awesome with grilled lamb and steak. — 8 years ago
Had with steak - a nice complement and not overpowering- October 2016 — 9 years ago
Nice balance of tannin and cherry notes with a hint of plum. — 9 years ago
Amazing Brunello '09. Silky smooth, brick color showing. Great mineral-driven nose with black olives. Tastes incredible, pairs excellently with tomato-based dishes. My wife said it was a "highway by which the flavors of the meal were transported into her." I'll have to have her write my stuff more often. — 9 years ago
Very mild and refreshing on a chill summer night. — 10 years ago
Enjoyed this dry red with a saffron dish.

Crisp but earthy, substantial, and really does taste like pecorino (which is a good thing) — 10 years ago
Another Encruzado, this one hauled back from Portugal over the summer. Lovely, nutty, a touch of oxidation, but very clean and fresh. No US importer. — 11 years ago

A tad oxidative on the nose. Plums, dark berries, pipe tobacco, smoke, exotic spice, vanilla. Frame filled out nicely by grainy tannins. — 7 years ago
