Excellent off-the-beaten path Portuguese wine. Cider and pizza dough notes. — 8 years ago
Next day review. Gentle floral nose, nice acidity and good balance. Long finish, quite dry and acidic. Blend of Pommard and Dijon clones. Only 250 cases made, great finding for under 20$. — 8 years ago
I have never successfully saved any Sandlands wine between orders & I'm starting on that path again. This absolutely has the acidic structure to cellar a while, but it is so drinkable with fresh, fleshy fruit right now. @ownrooted knows his way around Chenin. — 9 years ago
Blind. I was torn between Tempranillo and Malbec at first. Foolishly boarded the Malbec train which took me down the Bdx path. I don't drink enough wine from outside of NZ anymore.
Really good example of the variety. Not a game changer, but nothing to fault. Very enjoyable, and I was told it was very cheap. If so, amazing qpr. — 9 years ago
Unreal. One of my favorite off the path wines. — 10 years ago
It's hard to believe the Jules Desjourneys 2009 is a Beaujolais, such is the concentration and depth of this Moulin À Vent. The fruit is not so unusual, a generous dollop of wild strawberries and pie cherries, but then it veers sharply off the sunlit path, into a thicket of scrub and undergrowth, wet decaying leaves and stony brook, only emerge once more with violets, lilacs and sandalwood. Nicely developed, with fine fore-to-mid palate tannins, it's drinking beautifully now and has the potential to last. — 10 years ago
Excellent Pinot to open and finish in one sitting. — 11 years ago
If you're in the Ojai/Ventura area, stop by Vino V Vineyards. They have some good wines at great prices. You can check out the working farm next door. Pretty cool; off the beaten path, hidden gem. — 12 years ago
Somewhat off the beaten path winery near Napa - always delivers. — 8 years ago

Absolutely great with a terrific Italian dinner! — 8 years ago
Hugely aromatic. On the nose a lovely sweaty leather cowboy hat with tobacco smoke. On the palette wild mushrooms growing along wet stone gravel shaded path with green moss. Perfect color. Nice acidity balance. Medium body. Medium plus finish. Special. — 9 years ago
It pains me that I can not share these German Pinots with my American friends😭😭😭😭😵😪😪😪. Really nice. Close to the 2008 I reviewed yesterday. Black currents and blackberries. Cherry and YERY powerfully elderberry characteristics another winner from this off the beating path winery. Really very aromatic and unique this would blows your socks off! 30 Euros. — 9 years ago
Very nuanced and unexpected. Cool weather and great minerality. A nice turn off the ol beaten path. — 9 years ago
Clear, pale and lemon in colour. Medium (+) intensity of delicious aromas that are unwilling to remain complacent as the wine sits in the glass. First opened up to fresh and brandied apricot being the sweeter note amongst some ripe citrus and green apple. Its developed into a nose of tangy lemon starburst, honeysuckle, orange blossom, some exotic tropical fruits and some feint slate-like character. Plenty of zippy, spritzy acid adding a little bit to a medium body. The palate is dry despite being lead down a potential off-dry path expressing its citrus qualities. Longer than medium finish, probably drank a little young. 3-5 more years and she'll be a peach 👌 — 10 years ago
A bit spicy, not too heavy — 10 years ago

One of my favorite producers of Meursault. Stony minerals for days. Flinty. Crisp, clean and does not stray off that path. Fantastic with crab and lots of butter. — 12 years ago
A fantastic fruity, tannic red wine. Yum!! — 8 years ago
Night in Rome. Off the beaten path in a tiny alley near the train station. Great find at the kitchen Culinaria. Jammy. Similar to a Pinot Nior. — 8 years ago
Lovely off the path wine. Nice freshness... — 9 years ago
One of my go to Jammy Zins. For the price point a great wine. — 9 years ago
