Excellent and lots of life left. Sad that people don’t drink Syrah more often. — 7 years ago
And just like thaf a whole case is gone. It’s barely July, but its’s been hitting 100 frequently enough that these tend to disappear. Just as the last drops of this were going down I said the same words i’ve said for the last 5 straight summers “I never order enough of this stuff”. — 8 years ago
I recently read about Bedrock's purchase of the Evangelho Vineyard, and was relieved to know that these old, own-rooted vines in sandy soil will be preserved. As for the wine, it is wonderful, with raspberry/boysenberry aromas and flavors, with notes of beeswax, earth, spice, and violets. Rich and velvety, but bright in its great balance of acid, tannin, and fruit. Excellent length, and just 14.1% abv. My new favorite Zinfandel-based red blend! — 9 years ago

Love it. Light and gently fruity the way a pinot noir should be, but finishes with a pleasant bite that keeps things interesting. — 10 years ago
Zombie dust! Black pepper and grapefruit, orange blossom and honeysuckle and ruby red juice mark their territory. Clementine, white grapefruit pith, tart cherry, ginger chews, then ruby grapefruit pith that lingers endlessly. Real depth here. — 10 years ago
Even if the company that makes this didn't take me on a trip to Spain, I'd still rate it highly. A little sweeter the tone, but it's the Bourbon barrel not the yeast. A nice change of pace from typical ales. — 11 years ago
Though it didn't have the usual buttery oakiness I've come to expect from Mer Soleil Chardonnay, I was thrilled to taste such rich fruitiness. Silver comes bottled in a "cement" bottle to remind us that it was aged in small concrete tanks from France. This allows, like oak, a trace of oxygen to seep in which helps to enhance the flavor. Very bright fresh fruit characters. It was opened at our home in Bensalem during a romantic Valentine's Day dinner with 2 other couples. — 12 years ago
Garnet in the glass with wet dirt, cherries, and floral notes. Talk about fresh. This baby is alive and kicking. Tannins providing so much excitement here that couple with the wondrous acidity and delivers a stunning package. Wet funk, subdued cherry tartness, and dark fruits on the palate. This isn’t anything like the other New World Tempranillos I’ve had before. Head and shoulders above the rest. — 7 years ago
Mind-altering aroma of rich, cherry cotton candy that lightly massages your tongue with a parting soft peck of spice. — 9 years ago
This was a nice surprise. Summery and tropical, sweeter than I expected but tonight that was perfect. Nice with salty grilled prosciutto-wrapped chicken, roasted potatoes, baby greens, and grilled pound cake with strawberries and whipped cream. — 9 years ago
Awesome stuff. Great fruit, bramble, herbs, and a beautiful backbone of acidity that just begs for food. Great!! — 10 years ago
Very impressed - first off this is a great granacha Syrah blend - it's spicy, smooth and complex that I can see both wine people and non-wine people enjoying. Secondly it's a very reasonably priced red. I've had bottles in excess of 3x this price not even come close to this quality. I'm a wine snob but wouldn't hesitate to bring this to a party or especially a BBQ. Top notch Trader Joe's value. — 10 years ago
Dark near-black purple that clings to the glass. Blackberry, black blueberry, caramel on the nose and full palate. Medium acidity. Medium tannins (appropriate for its age). Lengthy dark finish. Fine New World representation of the variety. — 10 years ago
I really love this Riesling. It's funny because if you have blue fish Riesling and than you have this they taste so similar. (Although blue fish is apparently medium sweet but it's not that sweet ) anyway I had this at a restaurant and I fell in love. It goes with everything and it's light I finally just found it in a store I'm so excited! I wish more places had this. This is for people who like dry Riesling. — 11 years ago
Still solid- tart cranberry, black olive, cedar, grippy tannins that can continue to mellow for some time- feel like it could go another 10 years — 9 years ago
From either the 3rd largest co-op in the world or in Europe. I think it's in Europe. Produttori is located in the heart of the tiny town of Barbaresco just to the right of the tower shown in the photo and up the street from Gaja. Also, one of the best Michelin stared restaurants for lunch we've ever had. As well, the best restaurant service we have experienced and it wasn't that pricey. For such large a co-op, they produce some outstanding value wines and some straight up excellent wines. This 09 is quite nice and one of their entry level value wines. A nice pair with my skillet lasagna. The wine shows more sour than sweet dark cherries, black raspberries, dry dark plums, touch of pouched strawberries, black cherry cola, dry dark florals bouquet, a light delicate herbaceous quality, dark soils with dry powdery crushed rocks with nice acidity. The balance of fruit & earth is improving as is the finish. It still needs at least 3-5 more years in bottle. Very nice wine under $30. A 9.0 on it's own with the skillet lasagna, 9.1-9.2. — 9 years ago

You can really taste Howell Mt. here. The age worthiness of these cabs is amazing. The 1997 Magnum was highly concentrated, but every sip was an absolute pleasure that sent the palette running in all directions. — 11 years ago
I love finding new, affordable wine that tastes great! I love this Pinot! (And I love the Under $8 price at Sam's Club!) By the way, the guys from the band Train helped create this! — 11 years ago
Very tasty! Smooth. A little spicy. Is that plum? — 13 years ago
Patrick Derdeyn
This is a stunner. Single Vineyard. 65 year old vines of mostly Guwertz, Riesling, Trousseau Gris, and Roter Veltliner. The aromatics on this are soaring, all honeysuckle and lychee with a citrus blast on the palate with acidity included. Finishes long and memorably. Awesome with food and should continue to improve for at least 5 more years and hold much longer after that. — 7 years ago
