While decent enough @ this price [the QPR of which is reflected by my score], I personally prefer the '15 Kirkland Sig Select Cotes du Rhone Villages @ the same price [assuming you're a COSTCO member], or **definitely** the '14 Tilia Malbec Mendoza, which 1/3 of the local COSTCOs I check still have @ $7.49, the Tilia also being a justifiable [IMHO] WA 90 pt wine. My reasoning: Either the Kirkland CdR or the Tilia offer more substance & potential than does this Pontificis, which I'd not keep beyond 2016.

13% alc.
40% Grenache, 33% Syrah and 27% Mourvèdre.

Whether out of a Dixie cup at a neighborhood BBQ or from a Riedel XL Extreme at early dinner this demands respect.

How this can make it over the pond, get US distribution, land on store shelves and still be sold at $6.99 with a profit, is beyond me.

Simple, juicy but just plain out quaffable this should fit very well with some (good) pizza.

Fruity with hints of dark grape and raspberry. Very smooth with a nice finish.

Bitter, sour and thin when first opened. Better chilled the next day. Drinkable but not worth buying again.

Paired with our grenache and cake. Amanda liked the dark cherry. Light on the tannins
