2019 vintage Jan 2025 with homemade pizza. Very solid and tasty wine. — 9 months ago
2015: Outstanding Aglianico. Dominated by gobs of darker red fruit earlier on before picking up tertiary leather and graphite flavors. Rich and mouth coating and already drinking well, but clearly will get increasingly complex over time. $50 on Delectable. — 5 years ago
Rich cherry and cassis lovely finish and balance. — 6 years ago
Jack and Jamie Davies revived the historic vineyards and cellars in 1965. Today, their son Hugh, continues their mission. 100% Chardonnay pale straw color with aromas of stone fruits, floral and citrus notes. A terrific crisp sparkler with crisp apple, peach and lemon flavors, fine mousse with tiny bubbles. Tangy acidity on a long finish ending with a yeasty creamy character. Nice! — 7 months ago
Delicious. Low tannins, sweet, fruity, smooth. Blueberry, blackberry, plum jam. — 9 months ago
Light golden color, restrained nose of yellow fruit maybe even yellow kiwi. Rich and round, ripe yellow apples, some stone, decent acidity. Needs time for tertiary notes that seem like they’d be interesting. Maybe a bit low on acid, although the mineral and reductive note keep it pretty well balanced. — 3 years ago
Terrific rose of pinot noir from Maggie Harrison of Antica Terra. This is not your garden-variety rose: serious skin contact time coupled with her incredible wine-making abilities has produced a really substantive wine. Reminds me a bit of Manfred’s SQN roses (not surprising, I guess, since Maggie worked with Manfred for I believe a decade or so before striking out on her own with what I think is the best winery in the Willamette Valley). Do yourself a favor and try to snag some of this. Terrific juice. — 4 years ago

Deep ruby color with nose of cassis, blackberries, violets, cedar, and vanilla. Very acidic and tart on first sip, but as it opens up the depth comes. This is a big wine with solid fruit and firm tannins. Give it a few years and I imagine those tannins will soften a bit. Enjoyed with some friends while we prayed for our kids. — 10 months ago
My go-to sparkling in FL yet this one somehow falling a bit short - I think tough comp vs the Fourier a few days ago - maybe try the BdN next — 4 years ago
A blend of 77% Cab Sauv, 13% Merlot, 7% Syrah, 3% Petite Sirah & 1% Cab Franc, deep Ruby with aromas of rich ripe berry fruits, cedar and earthy herb spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, black cherry and plum, with cacao, tobacco and oaky notes. Nice balance, soft chewy tannins, long finish ending with creamy vanilla spice and cedar character. Nice value! — 5 years ago
You really can't give this one a very true rating right now. This bottle still has a lot of red fruited baby fat. After about 3 hours of air, it started to settle into more of a black cherry with hints of blackberry kind of a wine. But it definitely was not like that sooner. It is amazing how 15 years seems to be the dividing line and the characteristics change so much. It took a little coaxing. This one has a fair amount of herb influence. Also has some menthol or eucalyptus. Not sure that was there when I tried one of these even earlier. Overall, I make no apologies for opening this one now. It is still a very good wine. But when you know how these drink at 15 to 20 years, you know that it will continue to develop and change so much. Still a lot of stiff oak astringency at the moment. — 5 years ago

Nose - forest floor, wood, tobacco, moss. Main flavors - stewed plum and light baking spices. A bit of tannic structure but overall smooth and earthy. Like no Pinot noir I’ve ever had. Tremendous! Read the James Suckling review and he has it right it’s moody. But I think moody in the best possible way. — 3 months ago
