Good for a restaurant wine choice when there are no Italian reds. Not overly juicy or in your face typical of the region. Probably due to the nice peppery overlay. Acidity and tannins well balanced to permit mouthwatering enjoyment up front followed by a long relatively soft finish. Priced a bit much. — a month ago
Heavy hitting red. Lush. Nice. Smooth. Snack your face, red. — a month ago
1996 vintage. Last tasted 5.8.25 (9.5), 9.29.24 (9.5) and 8.2.24 (9.6). Decanted with some sed and tasted after an hour. Solid cork and fill. This was the worst showing of the last visits with less tannic structure and slightly more richness. Tasted a bit more like their "Au Paradis" offering. Not totally dissuaded from picking up another few bottles for enjoyment in the few 5 years or so tho. Three out of four bottles surveyed were fabulous and this wasn't a total swing and a miss. 07.18.25. — a month ago

Strawberries, blackberries & berry jam in the nose with strawberries, blackberries, plums, raspberries and jam in the palate. A real fruit bomb. Paired well with both Parmesan & cheddar, ham & prosciutto and a cheese flavored cracker. Went well if drank prior to dark chocolate or a double chocolate brownie, but not as good as drank after. — a month ago
It was very acidity and a bit bland at first. Maybe it needed more time, but decanted for 3ish hours and it tasted a lot like mushrooms, balsamic, black currant and a touch of underbrush with forest floor- with a touch of oak and spice. It was tannic but there was a lack of something in the mid palate and fruit. As I drank the last glass after 5 hours of decanting, it started to open up beautifully. All the aforementioned characteristics but with a strong mid palate filled with dark fruit. Delicious. Not as good as other vintages but this is worth drinking but give it some time to decante. Maybe 4+ hours. — 2 months ago
Perch restaurant with the sisters. Light yet full of flavor - delish — 2 months ago
Could be a 9.2 but I had it at a steakhouse and the Cali Cab - Filet combo makes all’s those wines taste better. Even without the 2+2=5 taste combo was still smooth, darkly fruited, and great. — 15 days ago

This was the jewel of all of the wine options at this particular restaurant. Full-bodied, a bit fruit-forward; went well with both veal Marsala and lasagna. Bonus: the leftover wine, when corked and stored in the refrigerator, held up well for a week. — a month ago
Awesome! Decanted for two hours, but it was much better after four. Lush, rich dark berry fruits, herbs and cinnamon spice accompanied by leather and smoke. — 2 months ago
More tame fruiter notes than other American Zinfandels — 2 months ago
