Ruby in color, and cloudy, with a wide purplish rim.

Sour nose of raspberries, cherries, blueberries, wood, cloves, vanilla, smoke, spices, light chocolates, metals, peppercorn, light vegetables and pencil lead.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, bell pepper, oak, licorice, cloves, earth, vegetables, vinaigrette, leather, tobacco leaf, cola, graphite and peppercorn.

Medium in finish with soft tannins and black pepper.

This is a nice Cabernet from Paso Robles, California. Not fully balanced yet, but enjoyable nonetheless. Shows nice complexity and mouthfeel, but still young.

Needs a year or two in the bottle to mature. Good by itself or with food. Needs an hour to open up properly. Drank from a half bottle.

I paired it with a cheese plate and crackers.

Aged for 14 months in American Oak barrels (25% new).

14.5% alcohol by volume.

Consistent vintage to vintage. A bit jammy in the finish for my taste, but still layered and restrained for Cali Cab.

Opaque very dark ruby color, and medium-bodied this wine offers baked black and red fruit, dark chocolate, spice and subtle cedar wood aromas. On the palate it shows a supple texture with chalky well integrated tannins and blackberry, black cherry, vanilla, dark chocolate and a kiss of cassis flavors. 13.9% alcohol. Spends 18 months in 225-liter American oak barrels. 2010 Vintage

Preferred the ‘17 from a few weeks ago. Older is not always better?
