Wow!! Broc has done it again!
2015 Carignan - Beautiful deep ruby red color. Nose reminiscent of a super ripe cherry covered in dirt!
On the palate, dry, upbeat, crunchy acidity, pomegranate, cherry, cherry cola, turns into a crunchy black fruit, some spicy notes🤔. Well integrated *medium* tannins, earthy finish. Dangerously drinkable!
Went soooo well with pepperoni pizza!
Broc never disappoints😄 — 6 years ago
Had this tonight to contrast/compare 2015 to 2013 reserve we had Friday. More fruit forward with blackberry and cedar notes. Lovely black/blue fruit mid-palate and a bramble and cedar@finish. just needs more time in the bottle. Will be spectacular in 5 more years — 7 years ago

I love Stags Leap and this one is crazy reasonable and so good. Cherry flavored, soft on pallet. Beautiful wine. — 11 years ago
Lots going on with this wine. Progression from light to dark fruit to tart, slightly sour finish. Dried cherry, forest floor, acidic. — 4 months ago

I can’t tell you how many of these bottles of this I’ve enjoyed. Beautiful glou — 6 years ago
Rich and interesting with a little bit of a funk, but still feels elevated. Young wines are good but it does mellow nicely with some aging in bottle. — 7 years ago
Sweet, fruity, mild spices that sustain. Holds its own — 13 years ago
1 hour decant(lots of chunky/fine sediment). A splendid still dark garnet color with a little bricking. On the nose: sweet red/blue fruit, pencil shavings, forest floor, little stewed meat, cigar box. Taste: silky, lengthy, deep, polished wine with red berries, charred earth, dark chocolate, tobacco, and a spiced mocha long lingering finish. YUM! — 4 months ago

Clalssic napa cabernet. Been awhile. Berry juicy! — 6 months ago
These are recalled impressions, not contemporaneous notes, from two nights ago, when the family council of elders met for a steak/wine pairing event at my brother Angelo’s house.
Everyone loved this one. Deep and complex. Like a great Pessac with its notes of deep gravel and cigar box. — 8 months ago
One of my basic faves! Pretty sweet but tastes amazing with any sort of fresh fruit topped! — 6 years ago

Dark fruit in the nose with plums, black cherries, leather and blackberries in the palate. Paired well with steak au poivre. Drank in 2026, could use aeration to fully enjoy the wine. — 3 months ago
