Estate Grown Ballard Canyon Syrah 2019

Blackberry, rich and quite thick on palate, but with some very nice underlying acidity that provides some nice tension on the palate and into the lingering finish, very fine Central Coast Syrah! — 3 days ago

Quite perky 2022. Not modern style, much more acidity than expected. Rich robust dark fruit. Tight tannins. Really nice. — 6 months ago

Colson Canyon Vineyard Syrah 2018

From a Syrah specialist in Central Coast, this shows a profile of ripe blueberries and blackberries, accented by violets, dark roast coffee, and a hint of dried herbs. On the palate, it's full-bodied and powerful, though it comes across as slightly over-extracted, with firm, grippy tannins that need time to settle.

A solid wine, but I think there are better options in its price range.

Frog's Leap

Shale and Stone Napa Valley Chardonnay 2020

Pale and lemon with aromas of stone and citrus fruits with yeasty and toasty oak aromas, sat on lees for 6 months. On the palate flavors of crisp apple and peach with citrus zest and nutty oak notes, well balanced with acidity. Medium+ finish ending with fruit, toasty oak and mineral character. Pair with a lane or red snapper with a tomato garlic compote topping. — a month ago

Mays Canyon Pinot Noir 2022

We got vanilla and peach on the nose, with a struck-match edge that added a savory note. It felt delicate for a Chardonnay but very enjoyable. The balance was spot on. — 2 months ago

That’s good. Glycerin, nice acid to complement, pineapple and lemons. Continue to be impressed with SB from this region. — 6 months ago
