The score is very dependent on how you approach wine. Being that this is 18%ABV, you have to look at other aspects of the wine at 17yrs old instead of focusing on the heat. Love their Roenfeldt Rd Shiraz.
Followed over two days, consistent on both. Color is still incredibly dark red, hardly any bricking. For the ABV, it doesn’t come across hot aromatically…little coconut from the American oak, prunes, soft baked fig, uber ripe red and black fruits. On the palate, it’s richly textured showing mixed berry pie, blackberry preserves/jam initially before it channels a port-like liqueur finish. Initially had with TX smoked pork and brisket, the pairing was exquisite. — 8 months ago

Sette Ponti or "seven bridges," refers to 7 bridges crossing the Arno River on the road from Arezzo to Florence. Blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cab Sauv & 10% Petit Verdot, aged 18 months in new French oak. Very dark Ruby with pronounced aromas of dark fruits, cigar box & earthy notes, touch of floral citrus. Flavors of black cherry & blackberry with tobacco & spice. Fine tight tannins, long finish ending with cacao, tobacco & mineral spice as the finish builds. Decant now! Will continue to age! — 3 years ago
Pale yellow with pleasing aromas of citrus and sweet peaches. One of the few barrel fermented Sauvignon Blanc's which adds a wonderful toasty oak flavor setting this wine apart from the rest. Complex palate of flavors, fresh fruit, lemons, grapefruit, peaches, Asian pears and baked apple with tea and spicy acidity. Slight herb notes with a smooth and creamy well balanced finish ending with a gentle sweet character. A Fav! — 4 years ago
The nose is immediate captivating with blueberry, cedar, pinecone, grilled herbs, dark chocolate, black pepper, light lavender, and hint of leather. It’s complex but does not overwhelm. The medium to full body is elegantly sculptured and self assured. Great balance. Sheer joy to drink this.

Lots of forward fruit, red currant and blackberry. Subtle mid palate. Just a nip of tannins on the finish. Overall smooth and easy drinking. — 4 years ago
Orange-red clear color; nose has red and black cherries, strawberries, underbrush, herbs, wet used socks (in a good way:-), flower petals, and hints of oak flavours; on the palate are red fruits, medium acids, soft tannins, candy-sweets, and a faint but lasting finish. No hints of herbacious green notes observed in my last Oregon PNs. Had with Dutch cheeses and Italian charcutery and Shostakovich 2:nd piano trio played on a master recording from 1983 by the Borodin Trio. — 6 years ago

Part of the seghesio partnership. A great addition to their club orders - lighter fruit than expected, but a nice palate. I may need to try a 2nd btl…soon. — 5 months ago
