Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 1981 pours an amber color with medium+ viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing (still!) with notes of ripe apricots, orange peel, honeysuckle, marmalade, candied nuts and crushed rock. On the palate, the wine is sweet with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This bottle of the 1981 seems evergreen considering the way it showed today. Drink now through 2081?? — 5 months ago

1966 that we had with foie gras. It was excellent! — 6 months ago
White peaches, hint of lemon zest, slight acidity with nice nose that has a little oak. Very nice. — 8 months ago
Just.... like nothing else. Every time. I love this wine. — 6 years ago
Excellent white blend from Arietta, with what is probably the right amount of age. Amber in the glass, deep and mouth filling, fat, but not oaky. Very nice. — 11 years ago
2016. Our clean out the fridge charcuterie dinner. Blue cheese, apples, figs, prunes, walnuts all paired well with this unctuous wine as expected. We love Sauternes with Foie, but we didn’t have any on hand 😏, but we did have the end of a chub of good braunschweiger which went really well too. — 4 months ago

Overall nice red blend. Well balanced, moderate fruit. Enjoyed — 5 months ago
Paolo Bea dinner at Semo. All wines were prepared by opening and slow-ox, prior to service. Abbreviated notes due to the setting. The The 2020 Santa Chiara appears a deep orange color with notes of marmalade, apricot, flowers, and varnish (VA). The palate shows low+ tannin and decent acid. Tasty, complex stuff as usual. A lovely pairing with gougère of prosciutto, green olive and honey. Drink now through 2030-ish. Bottle No. 2814/5940 — 5 months ago
Got away with more aging than recommended. Still lovely. — 6 months ago

Love this wine year after year, vintage after vintage, you can really taste the viognier and rousanne! — 7 years ago
Alto Adige on full display with tart bitterness of pitted fruits and slate. Lush tropical notes and a hint of vanilla (the Chard?) round out the frame. Not much of a finish to speak of. Crisp enough for seafood, but with a ripeness that will pair well with a host of cheeses or your favorite South Asian hot sauce. QPR heaven too! — 10 years ago
2007 Petit Guiraud Sauternes. Excellent. — 13 years ago

Alive and kicking! And beautiful at that. The balance you want and come to expect in a top notch Sauternes between sugar, alcohol, fruits.
