Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2006

Power and grace. Somehow this feels like a wine of wisdom. Mature, carressing, full of warmth and comfort. Long, elegant, classy. — a month ago

Fattoria Poggio di Sotto

Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

First bottle of a half case we bought at the domaine in 2021. Definitely will be better in a few years but nice to try one on the earlier side. What they say is true - this is really easily Brunello level. At this point the nose isn’t giving a ton, but there is great depth of fruit and earth on the palate. This hits in several more parts of the mouth than most wines and the finish goes on for quite a while. Medium plus tannins and acid which should balance out a bit with some more age.

Opened the bottle 5 hours prior to service and then decanted for 2. Real candidate to be 9.5+ in a few years.

Sotto Il Ceraso Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo

ahhh, what a fucking joy!!! vibrant, fresh, fun and just enough complexity to keep you engaged. very lovely stemmy herbal things happening but the main focus here is just ripe crunchy red fruit. mark my words—this will be a cerasuolo summer. — 2 years ago

Riserva Chianti Classico Sangiovese 2019

Light-to-medium body; near-perfect acidity that goes beautifully with stuffed portobello mushrooms (spinach & ricotta stuffing). Nice, firm tannins and ripe cherries with anise, with the oak coming through at the end. A little earthy in a pleasant way pairs nicely with mushrooms. Would be GORGEOUS with mushroom risotto and asparagus. I imagine it would be beautiful with red meat, too. #pairwithfood — 2 months ago

Boscarelli (Marchesi de Ferrari Corradi)

Riserva Sotto Casa Vino Nobile di Montepulciano

Fresh and elegant vino nobile, lots of cherry flavours, a very good wine, but a bit ‘light’ with the bistecca fiorentina, probably needs a bit more time. Nevertheless one of the best producers in the appelation — 4 months ago
